5th June 2026 is World Environment Day, and the theme for this year is “Move ".

The planet doesn’t argue nor negotiate. It sends signals that are getting louder—rising seas, raging wildfires, heatwaves, melting glaciers. Climate change is no longer a distant warning, but is increasingly affecting people’s health, wellbeing, equity, and human survival.

Solar panels stretch across rooftops, wind turbines line the horizon, and cities are being redesigned for people. Forests are being replanted, and climate solutions are taking root in every corner of the planet. The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) calls on cities, businesses, and people everywhere to step in, and help steer a world already in motion. Climate change is no longer just about protecting the environment but about safeguarding our health, community, and the future.

But we can still turn things around. In response to UNEP’s call to address the impacts, MCC Singapore will continue to pay close attention to climate change issues and take practical action to protect our shared planet and work together to secure a liveable future.

On 29 May 2026, Mandai Wildlife Group celebrated the official launch of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve following the grand opening of the Rainforest Wild Adventure East -- marking the conclusion of Mandai Wildlife Group’s nearly decade-long Mandai precinct rejuvenation.

Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Ms Grace Fu commended Mandai Wildlife Group on its continuous efforts in advancing Singapore’s enduring “City in Nature” vision and recognised its key role in the country’s Tourism 2040 roadmap. In 2020, MCC Singapore successively secured the design-and-build contracts for both north and south zones — steadily advancing and delivering the world-class eco-tourism destination despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Opened to the public in March 2025, Rainforest Park North (Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST) received widespread acclaim with its distinctive ecological landscapes and rich visitor experiences.

Inspired by the landscapes of tropical Africa and Madagascar, Rainforest Park South (Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST), which integrates biodiversity across the full ecosystem, officially opened on 20 May 2026, offering enhanced world-class appeal with original, thrilling “Adventure+” attractions and a showcase of endangered species.

Building on its track record from the construction of Universal Studios Singapore in 2008, MCC Singapore has achieved another key breakthrough in the global high-end theme park construction sector with the successful delivery of Rainforest Wild Adventure. Showcasing the company’s outstanding technical and project management strengths while setting a new benchmark for eco-cultural tourism, Rainforest Wild Adventure’s full launch marks a significant milestone in MCC’s journey of high-quality development and reflects its continued commitment to deepening its presence in international markets.

“Unmasking the Appeal – Countering Ni****ne and To***co Addiction” is the theme for this year’s “World No To***co Day”, observed annually on May 31st — the forty-first year this global initiative is commemorated.

The highly addictive and harmful variants of to***co and ni****ne products including pouches, salts and flavourings, have been aggressively marketed as a hot trend under the guise of deceptive packaging and social media, to target a new generation of users. Startling statistics from the WHO reveal that at least 40 million teens aged 13 to 15 worldwide use to***co products, including 15 million who use e-cigarettes; with young people on average nine times more likely to v**e than adults.

In response to the World Health Organization’s to***co control initiative and call to draw global attention to the public health hazards posed by such to***co and ni****ne products, MCC Singapore strongly advocates for the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits, and strives to build a strong foundation that supports a healthy, harmonious and sustainable social environment.

On 3 March 2026, Mandai Wildlife Reserve officially opened "EXPLORIA", its latest indoor nature-themed immersive multimedia attraction. The project's successful completion marks a technical milestone for MCC Singapore in large-scale immersive space construction, while driving new momentum in the region's cultural tourism sector.

Covering 10,000 sqm, "EXPLORIA" integrates a 360-degree theatre, large-span column-free structures, LED interactive installations, a projection dome, and multi-environment zones—demanding high precision in structural control, M&E coordination, and multimedia integration. The project faced complex challenges including parallel systems construction and continuous design optimisation.

Leveraging its EPC management expertise, MCC Singapore established cross-disciplinary coordination and milestone control systems. As Mechanical and Electrical Contractor, the team delivered seamless integration of structural, M&E, and multimedia works, ensuring stable system operation. Hour-level scheduling resolved interface conflicts, with all critical systems validated under real-load conditions—achieving a "zero engineering disruption" opening.

Ms Shirley Woo, Deputy Vice President of Attractions Development at Mandai Wildlife Group, commended the team's structured approach and foresight in managing multi-system interfaces, providing strong support for efficient ex*****on.

"EXPLORIA" represents a major advancement in MCC Singapore's capabilities within the premium cultural tourism engineering market. The project has established replicable models in complex system integration and themed environment delivery, reinforcing the company's regional leadership in themed entertainment construction.

The successful delivery enriches Mandai Wildlife Reserve's offerings and contributes to the advancement of Singapore's cultural tourism industry toward high-technology, high-value development.

Moving forward, MCC Singapore will continue to deepen its focus on eco-tourism and themed entertainment, delivering benchmark projects that support higher-quality regional development.
