Material supply challenges and high factory loading are testing the entire PCB supply chain. Maintaining consistent performance in this environment takes close cooperation and a strong presence at the factories.

That’s why we are proud to have maintained quality performance above 99.5% and delivery performance above 94.3% across our factory base in China and Taiwan during Q3.
A big part of this is thanks to our Factory Management team working on site at our partner factories. By building close relationships, monitoring quality throughout production, securing sufficient base material, checking inventory levels and meeting with laminate manufacturers, our FM team help us maintain high and consistent performance, even in challenging market conditions.

A technically capable PCB factory is not necessarily an available PCB factory.

In today's market, availability has become just as important as manufacturing capability.

Material shortages and capacity constraints have created a seller's market. In many cases, factories no longer need to compete for every order. Instead, they can be selective about the technologies, customers and commitments they choose to support.

This changes an important sourcing assumption.

The question is no longer only:

"Can this factory manufacture our PCB?"

It is also:

"Can this factory secure the materials and capacity needed to prioritise our PCB?"

Understanding that distinction is becoming increasingly important as lead times extend, material allocations tighten and quotation behaviour changes across the industry.

A lot of the material in PCBs is hard to recycle and PCB manufacturing in general is not very environmentally friendly. But there is a light in the dark - materials that are more or less recyclable are now being developed and tested.
