Another tricky one for the House Lifters team! 🏠💪

This building needs to be temporarily relocated so its foundations can be completely rebuilt before we shift it back into place.

The challenge? It sits on a concrete slab, meaning it has no structural floor of its own. Before we could even think about moving it, we had to strengthen and bulk up the framing to ensure it could be safely lifted and shifted.

A bit of extra groundwork to get this one moving!

Villa Renovation; Re-levelling, Re-piling
Mt Eden, Auckland

This 100 square metre, 100+ year old Mt Eden villa, was surveyed to be about 50mm out of level. The house was going to be renovated for its new homeowners to move in, and restoring its sloping floor levels would serve a great deal of benefit. House Lifters replaced some piles inside of the house with new code-compliant pile foundations to provide additional lasting foundation improvements to the house.
Despite the perimeter ends of the building being founded on aged cobblestone walls, House Lifters was able to relevel these unique foundations to provide a perfect restoration of the floor levels, undoing the sinking/ settlement it had experienced. ☎️ Contact Houselifters today for your latest project!

After significant flood damage, this home has been carefully lifted, shifted , and slid back on site to allow for the construction of new, compliant foundations. We’re now building to a raised finished floor level that meets updated flood standards, ensuring the home is protected well into the future.

This client qualified for an Auckland Council P2 grant — a funding programme designed to support homeowners in high-risk flood areas to raise and protect their homes against future events. This made a major difference in getting this project underway.

Once complete, the house will be resettled at its new height — designed to withstand future flood events and give the homeowners peace of mind.

Following the Canterbury earthquakes, this single-level brick home experienced significant settlement and loss of level due to compromised ground conditions. Built on a concrete slab with driven pile foundations, it required a tailored approach—standard repair methods simply weren’t suitable.

The client problem:
Uneven floors, structural movement, and an unstable foundation system that couldn’t be resolved with conventional solutions.

Our solution:
A fully engineered, specialised slab re-levelling system designed specifically for this property. Our team carried out:
