IMechE BUET Student Chapter is presenting 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐒𝐎𝐟𝐄): 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐁𝐔𝐄𝐓 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, a solo technical presentation contest for innovative and constructive engineering ideas.

Call for Abstracts: Speak Out for Engineering (SofE) – Intra IUT Heats 2026

If you have an engineering idea you have been wanting to develop or share, this is your chance to step up.

The IMechE IUT Student Chapter is hosting the Intra IUT Heats for Speak Out for Engineering (SofE) 2026. It is designed as an open stage for IUTians to present practical, creative, and technically grounded solutions in a solo presentation format.

Whether your project tackles an everyday engineering bottleneck, proposes a novel mechanism, or breaks down an emerging technology, SofE focuses just as much on how effectively you communicate your technical ideas as the engineering behind them.

How to Enter?
Write a concise, 350-word abstract outlining your core engineering idea and submit it by 16 September 2026.

Who Can Apply?
The competition is open to all enrolled IUT students across all academic departments.

What to Expect?
Submissions will be reviewed, and shortlisted participants will be invited to deliver their presentations before an evaluation panel. Beyond prizes, the winner will go on to represent IUT at the regional stage of the global IMechE SofE circuit.
