What a difference a good weather window makes ☀️🌱

It’s brilliant to see farmers all across the country finally out cutting hay and haylage and getting such a strong start to Hay Season 2026.

After last year’s drought and the difficult winter that followed, hay shortages made things incredibly hard for so many farms, horse owners and livestock keepers. So seeing the fields busy again and the mowers rolling is a welcome sight for everyone.

Here’s hoping the weather stays kind, the cuts keep coming, the yields stay high and barns are full this year.

A huge thank you to all of our farmers working the long hours to make it happen

“20 years ago most farms could afford to bale everything small in the field"

Today the reality is different.

• Weather windows are tighter
• Labour is harder to find
• Fuel and machinery costs are higher
• Freight efficiency matters more than ever

That’s why more producers are moving toward large square baling in the field, then processing later for the final customer.
The goal isn’t just making small bales.

It’s reducing labour, improving harvest efficiency, maximising truck payloads and delivering a more consistent product to customers.

Our system takes that one step further by individually weighing every bale to guarantee consistency in weight, density and stackability.

Not all rebaling systems are the same and as the industry changes, consistency matters more than ever

From the UK to Sweden then on to Nigeria.

This KME bale breaker and dust extraction system is being loaded for delivery, where it will become the front end of a straw processing line producing straw board.

Designed to feed directly into the customers existing system, this setup ensures consistent material flow and efficient handling of large bales.

It’s a great example of how agricultural machinery is now playing a key role in wider industrial and sustainable manufacturing processes.

Nice to see two bale breaking systems nearly finished and ready to go

🔵 The dark blue one is heading out to Nigeria. It’ll be feeding a straw processing setup for making building materials. Designed to keep production flowing smoothly and handle the workload day in, day out.

🟢 The green system is off to Wales and is a complete haylage rebaling line. Taking big bales down into neat 20kg manually sealed bags, all coming out at a consistent weight every time.

Two very different jobs, but both built with the same focus reliable performance and smooth, steady throughput.

If you’re working with bales and looking to improve consistency and output, it might be worth a conversation 01706 756500

We installed a bale breaker last week for a new customer feeding into their existing small baler and honestly, it’s a game changer.

Now he can bale big in the field (beat the weather & avoid chasing labour / constant handling) then break them down and re-bale when he’s got time.

Cleaner, low-dust small bales for customers and still able to sell big bales too.

Less pressure in the busy season, more flexibility after.

If you’re flat out every summer, this setup’s well worth a look.

A few on-site progress photos from one of our engineers during the Veolia MRF upgrade currently underway.

This project is being delivered to help the facility adapt to the requirements of the new Simpler Recycling legislation, with upgrades designed to improve the sorting and recovery of a wider range of recyclable materials.

As collection requirements continue to evolve, MRFs need to be ready to handle additional streams more effectively including materials such as aluminium foil and food trays, along with plastics like pots, tubs and trays.

It’s great to see the work progressing and to be involved in projects that help future-proof recycling operations for the changes ahead.
