Well technically it’s a rig, because it’s multiple power racks joined together. But it was easier to just say rack in the video.

Born in 1907 - the same year as Pullum Sports- and trained exclusively by our founder, W.A. Pullum, in weightlifting, Ivy Russell earned the unofficial title of 'The World's Strongest Woman'.

Why was the title unofficial?
Because the British Amateur Weightlifting Association refused to acknowledge women in the sport.

Ivy became a trailblazer for women's equality in sport, tipping the first domino that led to women's weightlifting being featured at the 2000 Summer Olympics and inspiring a generation of female lifters.

There's something so atmospheric about this equipment list pamphlet from 2001.

Maybe because everything was shot on film, or maybe it's the nostalgic look of gyms and equipment... A time where kit didn't need to be flashy, smooth or optimised the way everything is in the modern day.

Either way, we love that time stands still in these photos; they allow you to feel the warmth of a simpler time.
