This month’s Employee of the Month goes to none other than our very own Nick Cloke 👏

Now, before anyone starts asking questions… no, this wasn’t rigged, and no, nobody was forced to write this post. Honest.

Running a business means wearing a lot of hats, spinning a lot of plates, and somehow still finding time to look after customers, support the team, and keep everything moving in the right direction. Nick does all of that day in, day out.

He’s always there when customers need him, always willing to go the extra mile, and never afraid to roll his sleeves up when the job calls for it.

Do we tell him often enough? Probably not.

So, today we’re giving credit where it’s due and saying a massive thank you for everything he does behind the scenes to keep Cloke moving forward.

And no, his Employee of the Month award definitely wasn’t because he celebrated his 40th birthday in May… 👀🎂

🔧 Apprentice Spotlight – Inverter Replacement at a Local School 🏫

A great job completed this week by our nearly qualified apprentice, Jack Gunn, who carried out an inverter replacement on a booster set at a local school.

The inverter had failed, affecting the operation of the water booster system. Working alongside the team, Jack diagnosed the issue, safely replaced the faulty unit, recommissioned the system and restored the equipment back to full operation.

What makes this one extra special is that the project formed part of Jack's final apprenticeship assessment.

🚨 Emergency Booster Set Repair – Nationwide Hotel Chain, Birkenhead 🚨

Our engineers recently attended a Nationwide Hotel Chain in Birkenhead, Liverpool after all three Hydrovar drives failed, resulting in a complete loss of water across the hotel.

Following fault diagnosis, we quickly sourced and fitted three new Hydrovar units before carrying out a full service and recommission of the booster set to restore reliable operation.

🔧 Emergency Heating System Leak Repair | Leicester School 🏫

Our engineers attended a Leicester school after reports of a leak within the site’s heating system plantroom.

On arrival, the team quickly identified the issue as a leaking flexible connector/bellows on the Wilo heating circulator pipework. As heating systems begin shutting down for the warmer months, pipework naturally contracts as temperatures reduce — often exposing weak points and causing leaks to appear around joints, connections and bellows.

The leak was causing system pressure loss across the heating network, with pressurisation equipment actively trying to maintain pressure within the system.

Our engineers carried out immediate remedial works on site, tightening and securing the affected connections before checking the wider system operation, pressure stability and associated plant equipment.

✔️ Minimal disruption to the school

🔧 Leicester School – Booster Set Inverter Replacement 🏫💧

After a school in Leicester reported an issue with one of their booster sets, our team responded quickly to investigate the fault and minimise disruption on site.

On arrival, our engineers identified that one of the inverters had completely failed and was no longer operational. Rather than leave the system vulnerable or risk interruption to the school’s water supply, we supplied one of our own stock inverters on loan to keep the booster set fully operational while the replacement was sourced.

This meant the school remained up and running with minimal disruption while we turned the quotation around and arranged installation of the permanent replacement.

Once the new inverter arrived, our engineers returned to site to complete the works.

🏫 Single Lowara Pump Replacement – School Site, Bath 💧

Our engineers recently attended a school in Bath to replace a failed single booster pump that was affecting the site’s water supply.

To minimise disruption for staff and students, all works were carefully scheduled and completed on a Saturday 👨‍🔧

The existing unit had reached the end of its life, so the team supplied and installed a new Lowara inverter-driven booster pump, helping provide:

🏥 Care Home Call Out – Water Storage & Booster Repairs 💧

We were contacted by a care home after residents were being disturbed by a noisy pump system running through the night.

Once onsite, our engineers quickly identified the issue — but also uncovered additional concerns that needed attention 👇
