💧 Tank Clean & Chlorination – With On-Site Fault Identified

Routine tank cleaning can uncover more than just what’s happening inside the tank.

Our engineers recently attended site to carry out a scheduled cold water storage tank clean and chlorination, helping to maintain clean, hygienic stored water and keep the system in good condition.

During the visit, the team identified an issue with the inlet float valve. The existing component had become heavily corroded and had snapped, preventing it from operating as intended.

Rather than leaving the system with an immediate problem, our engineers carried out a temporary repair using a stainless-steel bolt, restoring the operation of the inlet float valve until a permanent replacement can be completed.

A new ball valve was also quoted for, providing the customer with a permanent solution to the fault identified.

The tank clean and chlorination was then completed, with the tank returned to service and the water level operating correctly.

During a previous service visit to an apartment block in Leicester city centre, our engineers identified a failed non-return valve on the cold water booster set.

Following the inspection, our team sourced the required parts and returned to site to carry out the repair.

With the booster set isolated and the pipework dismantled, the failed non-return valve was removed. Rather than replacing just the defective component, both non-return valves were renewed, helping reduce the risk of the second ageing valve causing the same issue in the future.

A booster pump can't pump water that isn't there — and repeatedly trying to do so can result in costly pump damage.

At this countryside property, the booster set had been running out of stored water, causing ongoing problems and putting the pumps at risk of damage from running dry.

To protect the system, our engineers supplied and installed a low-level float switch within the cold water storage tank.
