MATCH REPORT
THURLOW NUNN PREMIER DIVISION

GREAT YARMOUTH 4
HEACHAM 0

Following their exit from this season’s FA Vase last week despite a creditable performance the Bloaters returned to league action at The Wellesley on Saturday.
With heavy rain putting the fixture in doubt a group of volunteers armed with forks and sand worked hard to ensure that the game passed an early morning inspection.
The visitors had defeated the bloaters in the reverse fixture and later put them out of the Senior Cup but it was clear they were in no mood to succumb to a third consecutive loss.
They started well and took the lead after only 5 minutes through Kyle Ingram who was still feeling the frustration of missing last week’s big game due to suspension. When the ball fell to the club captain just outside the box he smashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner to give the home team the perfect start.

The bloaters continued to control the game and after going close on several occasions added a second with 25 mins played . A freekick from Tyler Halliday dropped perfectly behind the visitors defence where Cameron Barnes managed to get his 6’ 4”frame down to knee height to glance a deft header into the bottom corner
HT2-0

The visitors came out after the break in determined mood and a series of robust challenges resulting in numerous freekicks laid down a pattern that was to continue for the remainder of the game . To their credit the home side weren’t intimidated and played some excellent football resulting in two further goals before the final whistle.
Noah Hunt who had been a handful throughout scored his first goal for the club with a cool finish before Jake Spooner sealed the win with a far post header from an inviting cross from man of the match Kyle Ingram in the dying seconds.
A fourth straight league win secured another much needed 3 points for the bloaters who now face a challenging February schedule against most of the playoff hopefuls
