Marshall Trailers

Marshall Trailers Agricultural machinery manufacturer producing a range of trailers, spreaders and tankers. Built for today, driven by tomorrow.

Charles J Marshall (Aberdeen) Ltd was founded in 1952 by Charles J Marshall. By 1956 the first part of the present factory building was completed, named Chapel Works, and it gave Charles the ability to create the relatively new concept of a production line. Then as today, Charles invested heavily in his business and purchased vast stocks of steel and other components. This gave him the added advan

tage of being able to buy at very competitive prices and so produce a more cost effective trailer. Production output had also rocketed up from a mere 46 units built in 1952 to supplying well over 1,600 units per year by the mid-sixties. Rotary spreaders and slurry tankers were added to the product line in the 1980s and Chapel Works was producing over 2,000 machines a year. In 1982 the bright new talent of Charles Richard Marshall started his apprenticeship within the firm, taking up his present position as managing director in 1998. In 2012 the company welcomed the third generation into the fold - grandsons Charles Peter and brother David. Today we are still proud of our original premises and continue to invest annually to ensure we stay ahead of our competition. We predominantly use robot welders, CNC plasma cutters and presses alongside recently installing a huge state-of-the-art shot blasting and paint facility. The entire business and production process is controlled by bespoke SAP software giving us insights and data to enable constant improvements. Combining all these factors enables us to offer the highest levels of product consistency, quality, dependability and value to our customers at every turn. We now produce on average 46 units per week (a years production in 1952!). Marshall machines are sold throughout the world and we can proudly claim to be the UK’s oldest and largest trailer manufacturer.

2022 is yet another milestone in the history of our company as we celebrate 70 years in the business. Perhaps what is more remarkable is the fact that we are still owned and operated by the same hard working, approachable family; we’re still as utterly passionate about the business and the machines we produce for our customers as we were back in 1952.

For a couple of years now, we have had the pleasure and privilege to sponsor one of our local youth football teams – the Middlefield Wasps!

A fantastic club, a wonderful group of young footie talent and an ideal opportunity for us to provide them with stylish away & training kits.

We’re looking forward to supporting the club in the seasons ahead and uncovering the next Scottish soccer superstar. .

When it comes to machinery, it’s often the smaller details that make the biggest difference day to day. At Marshall’s, we understand that practical, well-thought-out features can improve efficiency and ease of use on every job.

Across our machinery range, we have a wide variety of smart design features built with operators in mind, that include:

- Wide tread front steps on the QM range, providing improved comfort & secure footing compared to narrow round bars.
- Fold-down rear hydraulic door panels on the HD range, allowing machinery to be loaded easily using ramps.
- Swivel galvanised drain plugs fitted at the front & rear of the MS spreader barrel for durability & convenience.
- Internal chequer-plate steps on the QM range to make climbing out of the trailer safer & easier.
- Bucket plates with integrated strap guides on the LL range for added practicality & load security.
- Detachable wiring suzies designed to prevent sagging wires & damage to the full light loom if the trailer is driven away while still connected.
- Adjustable front upstands across the trailer range, enabling positioning to suit different tractors & reduce the risk of damage.
- Remote-controlled internal & external LED work lights on the LST range for greater visibility & ease of operation.
- Liquid-tight seals on the VES rear discharge spreader, making it suitable for spreading both slurry & muck.

These are just a few of the clever ideas incorporated across the Marshall machinery range. All designed to enhance usability and ensure reliability in the field.

So, when you’re looking for a smart buy that incorporates innovative thinking on machinery built by a family-run business with over 70 years of engineering experience, get in touch with us or ask your dealer for a Marshall.

With over 70 harvest seasons behind us, we know how tight margins are at times and how tough making the right decisions can be.

To help you get the balance right, our QM range is guaranteed to tick all the boxes. Giving you the best blend of quality, reliability and value when choosing a grain trailer.

With our years of engineering expertise, we also know what features, large or small, are important. To make any machine across our range a wise investment and easy to use.

Important features, such as:
- Low loading heights to provide a lower centre of gravity, greater stability & better visibility from the tractor seat.
- Single large bore tipping rams for ultimate stability plus rapid tip & turn around cycles.
- Front windows - either partial or full width - to aid loading.
- Wide tread front inspection ladders, with bottom chassis & internal body steps for ease and comfort of getting in & out of the trailer.
- Chamfered edges to the body, chassis & rear doors to prevent grain build up & subsequent spills about the yard.
- Convenient skid holders to keep out of the way of the straw swath.
- Rubber bump stops to cushion the body when lowering and reduce noise.
- Side markers, rear beacons, rear work lights & high-level lights to see & be seen when working at night or in dark sheds.
- Electric, hydraulic or roll-over sheets to protect your loads.

These, plus a wide range of wheel, braking and suspension options, mean our QM range can be uniquely tailored to your needs. So, to get the best value for your business when you’re ordering your next grain trailer, talk to us or ask your dealer for a Marshall.

At Marshall, we’re always looking for smarter ways to make your work easier, safer and less demanding. When we first started producing trailers over 70 years ago, hydraulic tipping was a real innovation.

Today, hydraulics are at the heart of many of our machines. Beyond tipping trailers, it serves as a key-component across our range to improve performance and ease of use. These innovative features include:

- 6-ton hydraulic lift beavertail ramp on our new low loader range, making loading safer & easier - while also allowing the trailer to double as a flat / bale trailer.
- Our unique 4-stage, variable-control hydraulic pusher ram on our VES rear-discharge dung spreaders, eliminating the need for slats & chains, providing even spreading on both slopes & level ground, with minimal maintenance.
- Hydraulic sheep decks on our new LST livestock floats, combined with a hydraulically assisted rear ramp for safer, more efficient loading of stock.
- The Easy Secure hydraulic bale clamp system for flat trailers, allowing you to secure loads quickly without ratchet straps or leaving the tractor seat.
- The Easy Connect system, enabling you to hydraulically attach the filler hose to your slurry tanker without stepping out of the cab.

All designed to deliver maximum productivity, reliability and safety, with minimal effort.

To find out more about these innovative features across our range, get in touch with us or ask your dealer for a Marshall.

All our trailers are engineered with three key principles in mind: Strength, Usability & Affordability. With over 70 years of experience, and producing more than 450 bale trailers each year, they are principles that have served us well!

Each trailer features a fixed headboard and box-section bearers, interlocked into 6mm folded and pressed side rails. To deliver a highly robust body even before it’s mounted onto the heavy-duty channel chassis. And the result? Unrivalled strength, improved rigidity and reduced flex when loading.

In addition, we offer a wide range of suspension, axle, braking and wheel options. These, plus our smooth spring drawbars, allow you to tailor your trailer for either high-speed road comfort, in-field flotation and stability or a balance of both.

Our trailers are also designed with practicality in mind. Integrated features include best-in-class rope hooks, numerous ratchet-strap points, strap winders and a variety of tool and storage box options. There’s also the option to choose from different harvest ladder styles and add our bespoke 2.3m two-bale high or 3.1m three-bale high Easy Secure bale clamp system, that helps to make bale handling as efficient and stress-free as possible.

So, when you’re looking for a new bale trailer this season, built to your exact requirements and offering exceptional value and reliability, get in touch with us or ask your dealer for a Marshall.
