A vented chest seal has one job it must not fail at: letting trapped air out. The common failure is a blocked vent, and a blocked vented seal behaves like an occlusive one at the worst possible moment.

FOXseal Vented does not rely on a single valve. It vents through 24 ports in three radial circles of eight, giving 512 pathways, so blocking one does not close the system. Medtrade bench-tested it for vent performance when creased and under clothing or body armour.

A grip tab lets you decompress and re-seal without replacing the dressing.

Can't find the medical equipment you're looking for? Ask us anyway.

Our website lists the lines we carry regularly, not the limit of what we can supply. Sourcing products that are not listed is a good part of what we do: finding a manufacturer, confirming the product can be legally supplied in Australia, and setting it up so it can be ordered again rather than once.

Not every request gets there, and we will tell you either way.

Curea liquisorb and Curea 150 are both single-use absorbent products specified for different applications.

Curea liquisorb is sterile and individually packed, for use on the operating table. Curea 150 has a film backing that allows the patient to be moved on it, with a maximum load capacity of 150 kg. That is a product load limit, not a guide to patient suitability on its own.

Two problems that only show up once the patient is already on the way.

Contamination. A transfer sheet that cannot hold fluid becomes a cleaning job, and in an ambulance that can mean time out of service. The WRASFER sheet absorbs up to 5 litres, is disposable, supports up to 200 kg and deploys fast.

And minimising how much the patient is moved. The CombiCarrier II is a scoop and a backboard in one. It separates, goes either side, and closes underneath rather than requiring a log roll. 7.1 kg, 205 kg load capacity, seamless polyethylene with no rivets or screws, and X-ray compatible.

Both are the kind of thing a service either has in the right place, or finds out it does not at three in the morning.

A sheet and a harness do two different jobs.

The Patient Mover Sheet is for sliding. About 0.45 kg, rated to 453 kg, with reinforced handles so the team shares the load.

The Binder Lifter 2.0 is for lifting. It wraps the torso and gives the team 32 handles to work with, instead of gripping clothing or an arm. Chest 86 to 157 cm, 40 to 160 kg. The Bariatric Binder Lift covers the larger range, 147 to 208 cm and roughly 160 to 360 kg.

A sheet spreads a sliding load. A harness puts handles where a body does not have any. They solve different handling problems, so both are worth considering when reviewing transfer equipment.
