Today’s water utilities require more than just material records, weld procedures, QA checks, and consumables must be documented too.

At Aflex, every assembly can come with a Manufacturer Data Report (MDR) and a unique ADSN serial number for full lifecycle traceability.

💧 Ground movement is inevitable. Pipeline damage doesn’t have to be.

Settlement commonly occurs around tanks, pump stations, and buried pipelines. When the ground shifts, the pipework often doesn’t move with it, introducing stress into piping, anchors, and connected equipment.

🔩 Metal expansion joints help absorb that movement.

Assemblies like TUEB and DHEB expansion bellows allow pipelines to accommodate settlement while restraining pressure thrust within the hardware. This keeps the system influenced mainly by the low lateral spring forces of the bellows, rather than large thrust forces that can damage infrastructure.

The exact amount of settlement may not be known during design, but it’s expected over the life of the asset.
Expansion joints allow this movement to occur while protecting the pipeline system from excessive stress.

💧 Ground moves. Pipes don’t always move with it.

Settlement around tanks, pump stations, and buried pipelines can introduce serious stress into piping, anchors, and connected equipment.

🔩 Metal expansion joints provide the flexibility the system needs.

Assemblies like TUEB and DHEB expansion bellows allow pipelines to accommodate settlement while restraining pressure thrust within the hardware, meaning the system is mainly influenced by the low lateral spring forces of the bellows rather than large thrust forces.

Even when the exact settlement isn’t known during design, it’s expected over the life of the asset.

⚙️ Smart engineering designs for movement, not against it.

1600kPa. Large diameter. Thrust matters.

In pressurised water systems, pressure thrust transfers serious axial loads into anchors and pipelines when restraint isn’t engineered correctly. Restrained assemblies control that force within the hardware, allowing full movement acceptance while protecting long-term infrastructure stability.

Because performance isn’t just about movement. It’s about control.

Back after the break and the team is back in the workshop, getting everything set up for the year ahead.

The new year starts with a scheduled filter change on our Tranlas extraction unit — a routine and critical maintenance task that ensures effective welding fume capture, maintains proper airflow and protects our team and the workshop environment.
