Newcastle Stainless Pty Ltd is a specialised stainless steel and aluminium fabrication workshop located in Tighes Hill, Newcastle.
We deliver high-quality custom fabrications for a range of industries and pride ourselves on precision, craftsmanship, and reliability. We are not a public supplier but focus on quality bespoke work, including CNC water jet and router capabilities.

The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Stainless Steel & Aluminium Fabricator to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be proficient in producing fabrications to an exceptional standard, working with a wide variety of products and materials in a semi-supervised team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel and aluminium
Interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
Fabricate and assemble a diverse range of stainless steel and aluminium products.
Operate standard workshop machinery including metal rolling machines, pipe/tube benders, metal shears, press brake folders, drill presses, and angle grinders
Problem-solve during fabrication to ensure fit, finish, and functionality
Work collaboratively as part of a small, skilled team
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment.

Essential Requirements
Proven high-level proficiency in TIG and MIG welding of stainless steel and aluminium (to a very high standard – cosmetic and structural welds)
Strong experience in stainless steel and aluminium fabrication
Excellent drawing interpretation and measurement skills
Competency operating workshop machinery for stainless steel and aluminium (e.g., rollers, benders, shears, folders, drills, grinders)
Ability to problem-solve independently while fabricating complex or varied products
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a semi-supervised team setting
Willing and able to attend our workshop for a pre-employment TIG welding test on stainless steel (practical test + interview on the same day)
Prepared to undertake a pre-employment medical examination if required.

Highly Desirable
Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication, Boilermaking, or equivalent)
Experience with polishing/finishing stainless steel to high standards
White Card and/or current driver's licence

Key Requirements:
Proven experience in the safe operation and programming of CNC equipment, including Waterjet and Router machines.

Experience with CAD/CAM drawing, particularly AutoCAD LT, is highly desirable.

1st-Year Apprentice in Metal fabrication.
We are looking to add a highly motivated 1st year Metal Fabrication Apprentice to our team (on a full-time basis).
We specialise in the fabrication of stainless steel & aluminium products. All work is carried out in our large, modern workshop for customers across a wide rang of sectors. Our loyal customer base is made up of machinery suppliers from within industries such as coal mining, water treatment, sewage treatment, logistics, marine, and defence.
In this role you will be working independently, as well as in collaboration with co-workers, within a semi-supervised environment.
You will learn a variety of skills and tasks and will be trained in all relevant aspects of metal fabrication, including:
• The safe use of hand tools, power tools & machinery
• The interpretation of technical drawings
• Safety legislation
To be successful you will need to have the following:
Must have
• Good attention to detail.
• Punctual & presentable.
• Good communication skills.
• A basic knowledge of hand & power tools.
• Commitment and enthusiasm, with a genuine interest in metal fabrication & welding.
Preferred but not essential
• Driver's license.
• Access to own vehicle.

Newcastle Stainless - is looking to add to our team on a full time basis, an outgoing, forward thinking person that is experienced in the operation of CNC profile cutting equipment.
This position is for an immediate start.
The position will be for the operation our CNC Waterjet profile cutting machine.
Experience in the safe operation & programing of CNC equipment is required for this position.
A good level of computer literacy is also required with a focus on attention to detail.
Experience with CAD/CAM drawing with 'Autocad Lt' would be an advantage.

Newcastle Stainless P/L is looking for Full-Time staff to start immediately. We are looking for people who have some experience in Stainless Steel & Aluminium. This position is casual for the intial three month probation period.
It would be desirable but not essential if the applicant is experienced in both TIG & MIG welding of Stainless Steel & Aluminium. However, on the job training will be provided.
The applicant must be able to work semi-supervised. Also be able to read and understand workshop drawings. The applicant must be trustworthy, reliable and punctual. Any applicant chosen will be required to come in for a weld skills test.
