Six years mate.
It’s hard to put into words just how much those six years have meant to me.
Joel, you started as an employee, but somewhere along the way you became so much more than that. You’ve been the steady hand when things have been tough, the bloke I can always rely on, my sounding board, and one of my closest mates. 絆.
Running a business is never easy. There are highs, lows, wins, setbacks and more stress than most people ever see. Through all of it, you’ve been the one constant. Loyal, dependable and always willing to back me, even when the road ahead wasn’t clear. 感謝.
One of the greatest privileges has been watching your family grow over those years.Seeing Hirona, Kiala and Ilion become part of the extended McPhee Diesel family, and watching the kids grow over the years, has been something I’ll always be grateful for. Watching our kids laugh together and creating memories outside of work reminds me that some of the best things to come from a business have nothing to do with business at all. 家族.
Joel, thank you for every early start, every late finish, every problem you’ve helped solve, every shift on your days off that you sacrifice family time to help take some of the weight off, every honest conversation, and for always being someone I know I can count on.
Businesses go through seasons—some better than others—but one thing that’s never changed is the value you’ve brought to McPhee Diesel and to me personally. Your loyalty, work ethic and willingness to stand beside me through the good times and the tough ones have meant more than I could ever properly put into words.
Thanks for six incredible years, mate. Here’s to good mates, great families, and whatever adventures life has in store for us next.
