As National Safe Work Month ends, we’re reflecting on this year’s theme, “Safe work is for life.” It’s a reminder that safety is about more than getting through the workday without injury. It’s about protecting our long-term health and making sure everyone gets home safely to their families.

Throughout October, our teams held toolbox talks across our sites to reinforce the importance of planning each task, understanding the hazards, following safety controls, and speaking up when conditions change.

At Silverstrand, safety is everyone’s responsibility every day because no task is worth risking someone’s health or safety.

Our Silverstrand team continues to make strong progress on the emergency spillway repair works at Leslie Harrison Dam for Seqwater, following the significant damage sustained during Cyclone Alfred in early 2025.🚧

The project involves the demolition and reconstruction of the damaged concrete spillway chute, including extensive drilling, dowel installation, reinforcement fixing, formwork and major concrete pours. All works are being delivered within a challenging environment, with a strong focus on safety, quality and environmental management.

A key milestone was recently achieved with the successful concrete pour for Slab 6, which is now curing. Reconstruction of Slabs 1 and 3 is also well advanced, marking significant progress towards restoring this critical piece of infrastructure.👏

These achievements reflect the planning, collaboration and dedication of our site crews, subcontractors and project team as we continue to safely and efficiently deliver these works for Seqwater and the local community.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for their commitment and effort in helping restore this important asset.

Construction of the NuGrow In-Vessel Composting Facility continues to advance, with the Silverstrand team recently completing the first suspended roof slab pour, placing approximately 280mÂł of concrete.

The facility is being delivered in four structural stages, with each stage comprising a ground slab, Dincel wall installation and concrete infill, tunnel columns, and a suspended roof slab. Completion of the first roof slab marks another significant milestone for the project.👏

With the structural works progressing to programme, the team is also progressing well with the construction of the associated leachate management system.🚧

Once complete, the facility will feature 12 in-vessel composting tunnels and supporting infrastructure, providing NuGrow with increased processing capacity to support the growing demand for sustainable organics recycling and resource recovery across Southeast Queensland.♻️

Great work by the project team, suppliers and subcontractors who continue to drive this important project forward.

Our Picnic in the Park was a great afternoon spent connecting with the people who make Silverstrand what it is. đź’š

It was lovely to see our team bring along their partners, kids and furry friends to enjoy good food, sweet treats and plenty of entertainment, from magic tricks to the jumping castle and face painting for the little ones.

At Silverstrand, our people are at the heart of everything we do. Taking the time to come together, share a few laughs and enjoy time outside of work is what makes our team special. 🤌🏼

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a great afternoon!

Strong progress continues at our Elimbah East project, where Silverstrand is delivering the civil, mechanical and electrical package for the new sewer rising main, pump station and barometric loop infrastructure. The project includes approximately 5.5km of new sewer rising mains, a new sewer pump station, emergency storage facilities and associated odour control systems. 🚧

To date, four micro-tunnel bores have been successfully completed, and approximately 1,200 linear metres of dual sewer rising main installed. Restoration works are now underway across completed sections, while tunnelling and pipeline installation continue along the remaining alignment.

At the new Sewer Pump Station and Barometric Loop site, the team has completed the major concrete pours for the pump station structures, maintenance holes and associated concrete assets. Construction is now progressing on the valve chamber, flow meter pit, air valve pit and remaining maintenance hole structures.

With procurement of the major mechanical, electrical and process equipment now complete, the project is well positioned to progress into the next phase of construction and commissioning activities.

A great effort by everyone involved as we continue delivering this critical wastewater infrastructure to support growth and development within the Elimbah community.👏

We're proud to announce the completion of the new Bluff Bridge in Lanitza, NSW! 👏🏼

As the principal contractor, Silverstrand worked alongside the Clarence Valley Council to bring this project to life. Over the 15-month build, our team handled everything from initial design and bulk earthworks to structural concrete, bridge foundations, and final environmental rehabilitation.

One of the most important parts of this job was building the new three-span Super-T girder bridge over the Orara River right beside the old timber bridge. This kept local traffic moving smoothly for the community throughout construction.

A huge thank you to our client, Clarence Valley Council, our hard-working team, and all the local businesses and suppliers who collaborated, especially as we navigated a couple of major floods out on site.

Projects like this are all about keeping regional communities safely connected, and we couldn't be prouder to hand this over.

Great to see another major milestone on the Youngs Crossing Upgrade! 🏗️

As the team delivering this project for the City of Moreton Bay, we’re proud to see the first of 83 precast concrete girders now in place.

It’s a great example of the kind of work we love to be part of, building major infrastructure that improves connections, supports growth and makes a real difference to the local community.

We’re looking forward to seeing this one take shape over the coming months.
