Things that make auto electricians cringe. 😬
We've all seen a 12V wiring job that makes us question a few things. Here are some red flags to watch out for:
🚩 Loose connections - Can cause voltage drops, overheating and intermittent electrical problems.
🚩 Unfused circuits - Without the right circuit protection, a short circuit can turn into a serious safety hazard.
🚩 Undersized cables - Just because a cable fits doesn't mean it can safely handle the current.
🚩 Exposed or poorly secured wiring - Vibration, rubbing and sharp edges can damage insulation over time.
🚩 Oversized fuses - A bigger fuse isn't the solution to one that keeps blowing. Find the actual problem first!
A good 12V setup isn't just about looking neat. It's about getting the connections, cable sizing and protection right.
