ECSA’s accreditation programme continues with the second leg of the IEA accreditation visit at the Central University of Technology (CUT).

Led by Prof Didier Nyembwe, the panel is evaluating engineering programmes recognised under the Sydney and Dublin Accords.

Accreditation against globally benchmarked standards helps ensure confidence in the quality and competitiveness of South African engineering qualifications.

For ECSA Registered Persons, it also supports wider international recognition of their qualifications and professional status, creating opportunities for professional mobility and participation in the global engineering fraternity.

This is about more than accreditation; it is about strengthening the future of South African engineering.

ECSA’s accreditation team, led by Dr Keith Jacobs, has commenced an IEA accreditation visit at CPUT, with IEA reviewers observing the process.

The visit is assessing engineering programmes recognised under the Sydney Accord for engineering technologists and the Dublin Accord for engineering technicians.

ECSA’s participation in international engineering accords helps ensure that South African engineering qualifications meet globally benchmarked standards, strengthening their credibility, competitiveness and recognition beyond our borders.

It also supports opportunities for professional mobility and wider recognition of ECSA Registered Persons.

This rigorous accreditation work is an important part of maintaining confidence in the quality of South Africa’s engineering education.
