Sunday's beautiful autumn morning saw us welcoming the cutest (not-so-little!) chap in a gorgeous home birth 🤍 This first-time mom absolutely rocked her labour! She stayed strong in her resolve and looked as though she had done this many times before, and dad was the picture of a perfect birthing partner. Let's just say he didn't need to gym arms and shoulders after all the counterpressure he offered 🤣💪🏻✨️ Besides the obvious fulfillment of supporting their birth, I was also super chuffed to get in some cuddles with their kitties 😁🐈‍⬛️🐈 What an absolute blessing it is to work alongside these awesome midwives and 💜 Home birth – it just hits different! 🤩

Today is International Day of the Midwife, and this year’s theme — One Million More Midwives — feels especially close to my heart 🤗 I had the incredible privilege of welcoming this day in during the early hours of the morning by supporting the birth of an adorable baby boy; made even more special because his mother is a midwife who is very close to my heart. There was something so deeply meaningful about holding space for someone who spends so much of her own life holding space for others.
🎂 And the sweetest little detail: she baked this cake herself as a labour day project to keep busy while waiting for labour to unfold — such a beautiful idea for expecting moms who enjoy having something gentle, creative and meaningful to focus on in those early moments of waiting.

Midwives are present in some of the most sacred, vulnerable and transformative moments of life. They advocate, educate, reassure, protect and witness. And today was such a beautiful reminder of just how much midwives give — and how much they deserve to be honoured, supported and celebrated.
Happy International Day of the Midwife to every midwife walking this powerful path, and especially the powehouses I have the privilege of working alongside. The world truly does need one million more of you!

We are so excited to announce that the Department of Health has signed off on our license, and we are opening our doors on Monday. 🌀

We are so grateful for the incredible support that we have received from the community during this waiting period. While the delays were long, your patience and encouragement reminded us every day why we do what we do.

Survival CPR, First Aid and Caregiver Courses will be teaching a Baby and Child CPR and First Aid Course at Genesis Clinic. This course is for parents, grandparents, nannies, and caregivers who want to feel confident and capable in an emergency.
