We’ve redesigned our standalone Seam Thickness Gauge to deliver fast, repeatable seam thickness measurements in an easy-to-use design.

Two models are available: the Flat-Plane Thickness Gauge and the Variable Angle Thickness Gauge (VATG). Both can be configured for sanitary or beverage cans and can be used as standalone gauges at the production line or integrated with the SeamMate® System.

The VATG also allows operators to measure on a flat plane or at a 20-degree angle for added inspection flexibility.

Most portable seam inspection systems still require a laptop.

The QuickViewer doesn’t.

As part of OneVision’s Portable Beverage System, the QuickViewer combines the camera and viewing screen into one compact device for convenient line-side seam inspection. Operators can view high-resolution seam images, freeze frames, and capture images directly to a USB drive without carrying additional equipment around the plant.

One of the new features in SeamMate® 8.0 is the camera connection warning that alerts operators before measurements begin if the video module camera is not properly connected.

Starting an inspection with an inoperable camera can force operators to have to restart the inspection process mid-inspection. This update helps catch the issue upfront and keep inspections moving smoothly.

Like many SeamMate 8.0 improvements, this feature was added in response to customer feedback on ways we could improve our software.

The Second Operation is the concluding stage of double seam formation. During this step, the cover hook and body hook formed in the first operation are ironed and compressed, fully forming the seam while forcing sealing compound into any voids not occupied by metal.

This stage plays a critical role in seam performance. It ensures proper distribution of the sealing compound, particularly in the lower compound tunnel, which provides the primary seal. While some compound may flow into the upper tunnel, consistent fill in the lower tunnel is essential to maintaining seam integrity.
