make? AYR HILL HISTORY

The Ayr Hill name comes from the 1862 name of the town of Vienna Virginia where the forge is located. This area became known as Ayr Hill in 1765 when John Hunter of Abbotshill, County Ayr, Scotland arrived and named his new home after his beloved Scottish homeland. The present day forge is located on what was once John Hunter's estate, and is only a short walk away from where his old home was once located. I pronounce Ayr as "Air". That is, without a doubt, not the correct Scottish pronunciation, but it works for me.

I've never had much interest in making knives but it's becoming such a fad that I felt compelled to try and learn a little about it. Here's my first attempt at a "real" knife. I'm happy with it, but I've got a lot to learn. The guys at Nova Labs got me started on this.
