This twin turbo, MoTeC USA -controlled 5.0 is coming together nicely.

These photos are from a little earlier in the process — the engine is now in the car and the tubing has since been completed and routed by Wade Hill . One detail that often gets overlooked is the header wrap. On a setup like this, managing heat is just as important as making power. By keeping heat inside the manifold, under-hood temperatures can be dramatically reduced, helping keep precious intake air temps under control while protecting wiring, fuel lines, sensors, and other components from unnecessary heat exposure.

On Mustangs, engine bay space is already at a premium, so every bit of heat management matters. The goal isn’t just making big power — it’s making it consistently and reliably. 💨

James Merlo originally brought us this car for a dyno retune and a few minor upgrades. Upon making “only” 1300HP on the previous set up, he said “I want more..”

So we gave him more.

This far is now equipped with the following:

- Command Performance LLC engine
- Boost Logic 1500X Turbo kit
- ELiXiR fuel pump system
- John Shepherd Built transmission
- RAMPAGE FABRICATION & DESIGN Intercooler kit
- Syvecs Ltd. ECU

The car is now fully assembled and ready for the next phase. All the hard parts are in, the systems are integrated, and now it’s time for what we’ve been waiting for — dyno tuning. 👀

Not all standalone ECU kits are created equal. 🧠⚡

This is our true plug-and-play Syvecs package for the Porsche 996 platform. Built around factory ECU harness compatibility, this kit delivers modern engine management, expanded safety features, and the data these cars have always needed — all while keeping installation as straightforward as possible.

Included in the package:
•Oil pressure sensor (not factory-equipped on 996s)
•Fuel pressure sensor
•5 Bar MAP sensor
•Flex fuel sensor
•Calibration switch
•Dash display with critical engine parameters the •factory cluster can’t display
•All auxiliary harness leads and connectors required for installation

Every kit also includes a pre-calibrated base file from our own to get customers started on the right foot. RS3 finally getting some time on the dyno. 😮‍🔥

The setup was MORE than happy with this 792 horsepower... but we weren’t. 😏 After making sure everything looked good, we turned it up a notch and ended up north of 1,000 horsepower. 💨

Keeping charge air temps under control isn’t just about making power — it’s about consistency, reliability, and giving the engine the best chance to perform every time it’s pushed to its limits. Nitrous kit is fully installed and wired in, the new display screen is programmed, and next we’re onto nitrous dyno testing/ finalization, and then track testing 👀
