Here's what actually happens after breast cancer treatment ends:

1. Your arm mobility doesn't just come back. You wake up one morning and realize you can't reach the top shelf anymore. Can't wash your hair properly. Can't hug someone without thinking about it first. Regaining strength and flexibility takes intentional lymphedema exercises and mobility stretching, not just time.

2. Your body changed, and finding clothes that fit isn't simple anymore. Especially bras. Off-the-rack options don't account for post-surgery bodies, lymphedema, or reconstruction. You need a personalized fitting with someone who understands what comfort actually means now.

3. Everyone stops checking in right when you need support most. The treatment appointments end, the casseroles stop coming, and suddenly you're supposed to feel grateful and move on. But you're still processing everything. You need connection with other women in healing who understand without you having to explain.

These aren't side effects. They're the actual recovery that nobody talks about during treatment.

At Embrace Pink, we help women navigate exactly these three things. Because healing isn't linear, and support shouldn't disappear when treatment ends.

Save this if you're in the middle of figuring it out.

Pink Outs can be so much more than wearing pink. They’re an opportunity to educate, raise awareness, support local women affected by breast cancer, and show your athletes what it looks like to rally around their community.

At Embrace Pink, breast cancer isn’t just something we talk about in October. We support women from diagnosis through treatment, recovery and survivorship all year long. 🩷

We would love to work with local schools and teams to make your Pink Out meaningful whether that means awareness and education, having Embrace Pink at your event, fundraising, custom Pink Out shirts, or coming up with something completely unique for your team.

There’s something powerful about seeing your future pictured in front of you. 🩷

Because this doorway means so much more to me than success.

It represents every time I kept going when quitting would have been easier. Every tear nobody saw. Every setback. Every closed door. Every moment I questioned whether all of the work, sacrifice, pain, and uncertainty would ever lead somewhere.

And somehow, I kept showing up.

I survived things that changed me. I turned my own pain into a purpose. And now I get to use that purpose to help other women feel supported, seen, educated, and a little less afraid.

When I look through this doorway, I see Embrace Pink growing beyond anything I originally imagined. I see more women being reached. More education. More support. More accessibility. Bigger opportunities. A stronger community. I see myself speaking, advocating, leading, traveling, and making an impact far beyond four walls.

But I also see something I’ve worked just as hard for…

Freedom.

Financial freedom. Time freedom. More adventures. More memories with my kids. More moments where I’m actually living instead of constantly trying to survive the next thing.

I don’t know exactly what the other side of this doorway looks like yet.

But I know who is walking through it.

A woman who has been knocked down, rebuilt, changed directions, started over, taken chances, loved hard, fought hard, and refused to let the hardest chapters of her story be the ending.

So maybe my future isn’t something I’m waiting for anymore.

Maybe I’m already walking straight toward it. 🩷

Everything I survived prepared me for everything I’m about to become.

And I have a feeling… the view from the other side is going to be pretty incredible.

🎀 3½ YEARS OF SURVIVORSHIP 🎀

Today was my 3½-year survivorship appointment. 💗

I walked in today grateful to be able to say that everything went well and there are no concerns. 🙏🏼

There are a few routine referrals for things I want to address and take care of because survivorship has taught me that taking care of yourself doesn’t end when treatment does.

It’s crazy how something as simple as walking into the breast center can bring back so many emotions.

There was a time when these appointments were filled with fear, uncertainty, and the constant question of “What happens next?”

Today, I walked in differently.

A little stronger.
A lot more knowledgeable.
And incredibly grateful to still be walking forward. 💕

Survivorship isn’t just about no Eve. It’s learning your new body, advocating for yourself, paying attention to the things that don’t feel right, keeping up with your health, and learning how to LIVE again after cancer changed so much.

And maybe that’s one of the biggest reasons I do what I do now.

Every time I walk through those doors, I’m reminded of the woman I was when this journey began and of all the women who are walking through those same doors for the very first time.

3½ years later… no concerns. Another appointment behind me. And another reminder to never take an ordinary day for granted. 🎀

Here’s to continuing to heal, grow, advocate, and LIVE. 🩷
