For a couple years prior to our first prototype in 2008, we sketched and pondered greatly about an ultra-light wheeled system we could use to assist us in our solo back-country hunts. There just wasn't anything out there that came even close to what we thought could be designed with a wheel. We enjoyed the solitude of getting as far as we could into the back-country. We wanted a system that would
allow us (some with bad knees and or back problems) to be able to get as far back as we wanted and provide a single trip off the mountain with a boned out mule deer or elk. In 2007 while archery hunting elk we shot a bull elk six miles from the road. To get the meat off the mountain as quickly as we could we had to get help from a dear friend that spent an entire day bringing his horses to haul this boned out elk meat off the mountain. The following year we had our first prototype Pack Wheel with us hunting that same area. In 2012 we officially started the Pack Wheel business after using prototypes for four years. Prior to starting the business, we had made attempts to get four or five companies in the industry to build the Pack Wheel but no one could see the potential. The Pack Wheel worked way too well to not do something with it so we took out a loan to get some equipment to work with aluminum and we started building them ourselves. Since that early prototype in 2008 we have continued to constantly use and improve the Pack Wheel design. Today we offer a ultra-high torque e-Pack Wheel, two frame sizes with wheels from 26” to 29’’ in diameter, meat and gear panniers, a pulling attachment and continue to look at new and different ways that we can improve the Pack Wheel. Since our first prototype in 2008, we have spent countless hours perfecting the Pack Wheel design and there have been a number of tweaks to the design over the years. Pack Wheels now are better than ever and we honor our lifetime warranty on all our frames. We are tickled to death to have a Pack Wheel to assist us in our outdoor adventures.
