Last week, Lawson-Fisher Associates joined fellow industry leaders representing ACEC Indiana at the ACEC National 2026 Annual Convention & Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C., May 3-6.
This event provided a valuable opportunity to meet with Indiana’s congressional offices and advocate for issues that directly impact our communities and industry, including surface transportation reauthorization, rural water infrastructure, workforce development, and further streamlining the environmental documentation and permitting process.

In addition to legislative engagement, the convention hosted meaningful discussions on industry trends, leadership, innovation, and the future of consulting engineering. One highlight was an excellent presentation and discussion featuring Peter DeFazio and Bill Shuster, former chairs of the House Transportation Committee, who shared valuable perspectives on federal transportation policy and infrastructure investment.

ACEC continues to provide an outstanding forum for collaboration and professional development in Washington D.C. We are proud to represent Indiana, our engineering profession, and the communities we serve during these events.
