Congratulations to Brian on a 62" moose!

This past month, several members of the North Star Metals team spent their time off in the field. Brian was the one who brought home a moose, and it's an impressive one.

Brian, thank you for giving us the privilege of displaying it in our showroom. It's a proud addition to the shop!

We invite you to stop by Monday through Friday to see it in person. Say hello to our team, talk through your next project, and take a look while you order your metal.

Back in July we posted a truck pulling into the yard with our new roll former on the back, and then a crane setting it down inside.

Here it is a couple of months on, up and running.

It’s our new PBR and corrugated rollformer, and it’s now rolling metal roofing and siding panels to give you more profiles to choose from.

How do you pick a roof color off a chip that fits in your hand?

You can’t, really. A sample is two inches across. A roof is a couple of thousand square feet, and in Alaska light, against snow half the year, against spruce the other half, the same color can read completely differently from the one you thought you picked.

So here are a few of ours on real buildings around the Kenai. Same panels, same colors, just at the size you’d actually be looking at them. We stock 33 colors in metal roofing and siding panels, and honestly the easiest way to choose is to see one on a building instead of on a chart.

Which of these would you put on yours?

Ever had a commercial panel order show up in the wrong length and watch your timeline slip because of it?

That’s the problem we built this for.

Our new roll line lets us custom-form PBR panels to the exact spec your build needs — cut to length before it ever leaves our shop, not after it shows up on your jobsite. Less waste, fewer delays, and one less variable to manage on a project that already has enough moving parts.

Built and rolled right here in Alaska, ready when your crew needs it.

Progress Days is one of our favorite days of the year — not because of the parade, but because of who shows up for it!🎉🎉
Saturday we rolled through downtown reminding folks that the roof over their head or the siding on their shop might just be ours. But really, it's about seeing this community turn out year after year, rain or shine.
Thanks for the waves, the honks, and the hometown pride. See you next year, Soldotna!!

Alaska doesn’t forgive a roof that wasn’t built for it. Wind, snow load, freeze-thaw — cheap materials give out fast. North Star Metals custom-cuts every panel right here in Soldotna, so you get roofing and siding actually made for where you live. Stop by Monday–Friday and see what’s possible for your next project!

ROLL FORMING JUST GOT AN UPGRADE AT NORTH STAR!!📣📣

07/07/2026

Big week at North Star Metals — we’re installing a brand new roll-forming machine and some additional equipment in the shop. 🎉

Heads up: this upgrade may cause a short delay on current roof and trim orders while everything gets set up. We appreciate your patience — it’s only for a few days.

This investment means faster turnarounds, more capacity for you going forward. Thanks for sticking with us!!
