"Pantechnicon" comes from an old British usage meaning "pertaining to all the arts and crafts" and describes well what I do here, namely all the processes that turn ideas into reality. Pynchon for turning me on to this so many and other fantastic words.) We focus on creating hand-crafted espresso machines that create connections and memorable experiences, while being both beautiful and functional.

Although Pantechnicon is a new company, the beginnings can be traced back a decade or so. (More on portafilter hacks and bicycle powered espresso machines later.) During my time at La Marzocco, I was privileged to be able to help develop the Strada platform that gives more control over the brewing parameters to the user. I'm thrilled to be doing what I see in many ways as an extension of that work now. The espresso machine is a focal point in the coffee experience, and it can play a big role in telling your story and the story of the coffee you serve.
