These students are a part of a dual-credit "Manufacturing 1" welding program through Madison College and we were so glad to host them for a tour! It's always great to see the next generation exploring careers in manufacturing!

Corn’s coming off. Time to put the Cobra to work.

The Cobra 4200 is built for growers who want to manage residue without going deep. It’s a shallow-working tool that loosens the top 2–3 inches of soil without leaving a density layer, so you still get a firm seedbed.

Here’s what makes the Cobra unique:
- 20" serrated Cobra blades on 7" spacing slice through stalks and lift residue
- The Dura-Reel® crosscuts behind them, creating a 7" x 7" grid that mixes residue into the soil for faster breakdown
- The Spur-Till sizes root balls, pins residue to the soil, and helps prevent erosion over the winter
- The rolling basket firms things up and leaves a clean finish

You can run it at 6–9 mph and change the gang angle on the go to make it more or less aggressive. Next spring, change the settings and use the same tool to control weeds and prepare a level seedbed. Widths run from 12' to 45', and finishing options are available for most soil and residue conditions.

Meet Chris Johnson - our Production, Scheduling, and Logistics Manager!

Chris has been with McFarlane Mfg. for 38 years – he started as a general laborer, moved to Welding, Weld Lead, Weld Supervisor, Agricultural Production Manager, and now he is the Production, Scheduling, and Logistics Manager! He has been everywhere! His favorite part about working at McFarlane Mfg. is the people he works with!

Outside of work, Chris enjoys trying exotic food! The most recent food he has tried was squid, and the most bizarre food was braised beef cheek!

Let’s celebrate his hard work and dedication! Thank you, Chris!
