Crafton Tull joined the Hot Springs Fire Department and the City of Hot Springs for the ribbon cutting of the new No. 6 fire station! This facility was strategically designed to reduce emergency response times in one of the city’s fastest growing areas, an essential improvement when every minute can make the difference in protecting lives and property. Our team provided architectural design, civil engineering, and surveying for this critical project. Congratulations to the City of Hot Springs and the community! The City of Searcy invited the community to have some fun and make a splash at Berryhill Park as they cut the ribbon and officially opened the newly completed splashpad and inclusive playground just in time for summer break. 💦🌳

These inclusive play spaces are one of the many community-driven projects identified through the planning initiative. Crafton Tull is proud to have partnered with the City for not only the master planning process, but also the design of the playground and splashpad. Inspired by nature and designed for kids of all abilities, the playground features tree-house-themed play elements nestled into the grove of pine trees. The splashpad’s color scheme mimics the nearby Little Red River with water flowing from the splashpad across the walk, then continuing through the playground.

The community played a major role in shaping the vision for Berryhill Park by providing feedback throughout the planning process, and we are so excited to see their vision become reality as each project is completed.

In 2008, new life was given to the historic Junction Bridge that connects downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock. The bridge was transformed from a railroad bridge to a pedestrian crossing that has solidified the landmark as a downtown destination. During the renovation, the City of Little Rock, AR - Government identified the need for a safe and accessible connection to La Petite Roche, the historic rock outcropping that gave Little Rock its name, located along the Arkansas River just east of the Junction Bridge south abutment. This pedestrian pathway called for the existing grade to be lowered nearly 17 feet, but uninterrupted public access to the Junction Bridge, its elevators, and stair towers had to be maintained with a pedestrian bridge above the walkway.

Crafton Tull provided bridge design for pedestrian access to the Junction Bridge above the walkway leading to La Petite Roche. This atypical project included a 70-foot steel pony truss and an 18-foot retaining wall integrated into the riverfront landscape. The Junction Bridge conversion and the access bridge strengthened the connection between downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock, further establishing the bridge as a regional destination for pedestrians, cyclists, and tourists. With programmable LED lights, the Junction Bridge has now become a defining feature of the Little Rock skyline and serves as a part of the backdrop for events and gatherings on both sides of the Arkansas River.

Batter Up! ⚾️🥎 What a special evening celebrating the Grand Opening of Northwest Park in Rogers. We joined families, friends, ball players, and community leaders to officially kick-off this park's next chapter as a premiere youth sports destination serving Rogers families.

The redesigned Northwest Park includes eight youth softball/baseball artificial turf fields, each with 225' foul lines, new batting cages, field lighting, concessions, restrooms, and improved pedestrian circulation.

Thank you to The City of Rogers for trusting our team on this special project and for hosting a great event.

On International Firefighters’ Day, we remember the firefighters who dedicate their lives to keeping our communities safe. The spirit of remembrance is at the heart of the Arkansas Fallen Firefighters' Memorial located on the grounds of the Arkansas State Capitol.

Designed as a place of reflection and remembrance, the memorial features a nearly 12-foot bronze sculpture representing firefighters across eras and roles, set within a water feature. The surrounding memorial wall is engraved with the names of fallen heroes dating back to 1889. Limestone walls, granite paving, and a 100-seat amphitheater provide space for special events.

Since its completion in 2014, this project stands as a lasting tribute to the men and women who gave their lives in service to Arkansas communities. Crafton Tull was honored to donate civil engineering and landscape architecture services for the project alongside Jackson Brown Palculict Architects as they collaborated with artists Robert Daus Sr., Robert Daus Jr., and Paula Haskins to create this remarkable memorial. The connection is also personal, with longtime Crafton Tull landscape architect Frank Riggins recognized on a donor brick at the site.

Today, we take a moment to honor the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice and recognize those who continue to protect us every day.

The Uptown Rogers Connectivity project has transformed a popular, high-traffic area into a cohesive corridor that reshapes how people move around. The project includes five new roundabouts, a redesigned roundabout, protected bike lanes, trail connections, and on-street parking. A road diet on Pinnacle Hills Parkway reduced a travel lane while improving flow with turn lanes and roundabouts, creating a safer and more efficient experience for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.

New bike lanes and shared use trails run the length of the project, with rectangular rapid flashing beacon crossings helping people safely navigate key points near the convention center, hotels, and businesses. Transit also got a boost with upgraded bus stops, raised boarding areas, and shelters that make public transportation more visible and accessible.

From standard roundabouts to a uniquely shaped “eggabout,” each element was designed per national design standards and to fit its context while improving connectivity.
