Skilled Davenport Operator Wanted
Are you a skilled Davenport machinist who takes pride in your craft? Spex is a busy Rochester-based machine shop seeking an experienced operator to join our team.
Location: Rochester, NY Position Type: Full-Time
What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day
As a Davenport Screw Machine Operator, you'll be responsible for the full process of creating high-quality, precision components. This is a hands-on role where you'll own the quality and efficiency of your work.
• Tooling and Adjustments: Sharpen and install tooling and make necessary adjustments to keep production running smoothly and efficiently.
• Problem-Solving: Monitor your machines, identify and diagnose issues, and apply your mechanical skills to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise.
What We're Looking For
This role is for a skilled machinist who is reliable, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute from day one.
Experience: You should have at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience operating Davenport or other multi-spindle screw machines.
Technical Skills:
• You're proficient in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and understanding tolerances.
• You're skilled in using standard precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
• You have a strong mechanical aptitude.
Work Style:
• You have a strong work ethic and eye for detail.
• You’re a problem-solver who can work both independently and as part of a team.
• You maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
