We wouldn’t be in our 102nd year of business without learning from our customers along the way. So when our food service customer came up with a unique solution to caster and wheel maintenance, we took note, and we want to pass it on.

To keep track of when their wheels need replacement, this customer uses a color-coded system. Since polyurethane wheels are available in a range of colors, they use a new color for each year to keep track of when wheels were replaced. This makes it easy to stay on top of maintenance, making for a safer work environment, and less downtime.

If you’ve ever used the carts at your local hardware store, chances are good you’ve had to deal with a bumpy, noisy ride because the wheels were in such bad shape.

This usually happens because these carts spend a lot of time left outdoors resulting in wheel tread separation from exposure to moisture from rain, ice, and humidity.

The problem solvers at decided enough was enough, and they came up with a solution: USA-Made Hydrotech wheels designed specifically to withstand the elements. The special tread material is fusion bonded to the wheel core, significantly increasing wheel life, and decreasing headaches.

There’s more than one way to find your groove…. Cast iron and steel may be the more popular choices for v-groove wheels, but they don’t pair well with stainless steel frames. For maximum strength and resistance to corrosion, these glass filled nylon V-groove wheels are the ticket.
