Weston & Sampson was proud to participate in the MassDEP Northeastern Massachusetts Brownfields Roundtable and join the presentation panel alongside the City of Boston Mayor's Office of Housing.

Brownfields redevelopment helps communities unlock new opportunities by transforming underutilized properties into safe, productive spaces that support economic growth and community revitalization.

We're grateful to MassDEP, the City of Malden, and Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) for bringing together partners from across the region to share ideas and advance this important work.

Steel is up, and progress is moving forward at the Middleborough Gas & Electric Department's new Electrical Division Building.

Weston & Sampson recently joined Middleborough Gas & Electric Department, Skanska USA, and DOC - Daniel O'Connell's Sons (DOC) for the project's steel topping-off ceremony, marking an important milestone in the renovation and expansion of this historic facility.

Originally built in 1885, the building is being transformed into a modern, sustainable, and accessible facility that will better serve MGED employees, ratepayers, and customers for years to come.

We're proud to provide architectural and engineering services for this exciting project and look forward to seeing construction continue through completion.

Congratulations to the entire project team!

Strong engineering starts with strong scientific expertise.

Weston & Sampson's Miurel Brewer was recognized with the 2025 Editor’s Citation for Excellence Award from Agrosystems, Geosciences & Environment for outstanding contributions in scientific manuscript review.

This recognition is especially notable because reviewers are selected based on demonstrated technical expertise and subject matter knowledge, and only six reviewers internationally receive this award annually.

The work of a peer reviewer requires:
✔ Evaluating complex environmental systems
✔ Assessing technical methodologies and analyses
✔ Identifying risks and gaps
✔ Providing clear, science-based recommendations

These same skills directly support the work we do every day across resilience planning, water resources, environmental consulting, and infrastructure projects.

This recognition reflects the value of combining scientific rigor with applied engineering to help communities and clients navigate increasingly complex environmental challenges.

Congratulations, Miurel, on this outstanding achievement!

Preparing coastal communities for the future takes more than one solution.

In “Sullivan’s Island resilience plan pairs gray infrastructure with green solutions for 2050,” Kim Morganello, Katie Finegan, Rebecca Fanning, and Lucas Hernandez of Weston & Sampson explore how combining traditional infrastructure with nature-based strategies can help communities better manage flooding, protect infrastructure, and improve long-term resilience.

It’s a practical example of how thoughtful planning today can help communities adapt to tomorrow’s environmental challenges.

🌎 World Environment Day is about more than awareness—it's about action.

At Weston & Sampson, protecting the environment isn't limited to the projects we deliver. It's also reflected in how our employee-owners give back to the communities where we live and work.

Recently, members of our Rocky Hill team participated in a local park cleanup, helping preserve and enhance a shared community space for future visitors to enjoy.

That same commitment guides our work every day as we help clients protect natural resources, improve infrastructure, support sustainability, and build more resilient communities.

Our people care deeply about the communities we serve and the responsibility that comes with making a positive impact.
