And the saga continues...
Upper and lower timing gears not in line. Something I've learned to always check. Also, no cam thrust clearance with this dual Torrington thrust plate. Had to put the upper gear in the lathe and move it back .020" and correct the thrust clearance. Just more fun with these new aftermarket parts. This is a Rollmaster Gold timing set. Not a cheap part as chain drives go but I find this to be not uncommon.

Man, these days it's always something. Putting together a 347 SBF. Cookie cutter stuff. Ended up with .010 rod side clearance on one journal and .017 on another. Have no idea what the problem is...rod too wide, crank journal too narrow...doesn't matter. First time this has ever happened to me. Liberty crank and rods. This sure takes the fun out of building an engine.๐Ÿคจ

Note to self; if you're going ot pull 22" vacuum...you might need a better set of valve covers...๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฆ

Mike Jones .771/.770 268/276 @ .050 114lsa solid roller,
BAM DLC lifters, Manton 7/16 x .165 pushrods, my design Harland Sharp stud mount rockers,
Brodix BB2X heads that I rubbed on a little, Edelbrock 2907 that I rubbed on a lot,
Moroso Gen6 pan, Melling std volume billet pump
Star vac pump
Book 2.125 carb
962hp @ 7100, 794 tq @ 5700.
Dyno'd on Fuel Factory 110
Thanks again to Tom @ 3VPerformance for another great day on the dyno. We had a carb gremlin to work through but another very successful day!

Selling this used set of Crower Enduro stainless rockers. BB Chevy, 1.7 ratio, one season, maybe 100 passes. Never over 7K rpm with springs in the 275/750 range. Pretty much like new.

Well, what a day. We sure had our share oef gremlins but all in all, a successful day. Results are in; 1020hp @ 7600, 788 tq @ 5700. It smoked a little in the early pulls but cleaned up by the time we were done. This one fought me from the very beginning but it's done and I win. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

day other than gremlins. The carb builder thinks he knows what's up with the carb and offered to take care of us. Stand up guy, 100%.
So there you have it. Best pull was 1020hp @ 7600 and 788 lbs/ft @ 5900. Here's a vid of one of the early pulls (I think before we fixed the vac pump and you can see it puff a little smoke but by the end of the day it was all sealed up.)
