At the April meeting of the Southern Loggers Cooperative Board of Directors, the board declared a Patronage Dividend of $1,584,474.00 to be returned to our members — representing 100% of our net profit from the 2025 calendar year.

Yesterday - May 28, 2026, the cash portion of that dividend was direct deposited into our member’s accounts for their patronage in 2025!

Because SLC is owned by its members, 100% of our net profit is paid back to them every single year. With this year’s distribution, SLC has now returned over $20 million in Patronage Dividends to our members since our founding.

On behalf of our staff and Board of Directors, thank you to our more than 6,000 members and to our vendor partners for your continued support and loyalty. Your participation makes it possible for us to keep delivering savings and value to loggers across the region.

The SLC is mighty proud of our Alabama Board Member - John Ayres and his crew!

In Monroeville, Ala. Ayres Forestry Inc. is a powerhouse logging operation. It was 25 years ago that John Ayres stood with a pink slip in one hand and in the other, $2,250 in cash from the sale of his old GMC pickup. He was barely a decade into his career as a procurement forester, and he was now on the precipice of a decision that would define his career and secure his young family’s future. Also in this issue, news, new products, a new Backwoods Pew excerpt and more.

On this International Women’s Day, we want to celebrate all the many women that work so hard in the Logging/Timber/Forestry/Agriculture sectors, especially the 5 ladies the work directly for the SLC. Although the SLC does a massive amount of business pumping as much as 60 million gallons of fuel per year and approaching $250 million in overall sales, we do that with a small staff of 9 staff members. Five of our 9 staff members are strong independent women that play vital roles on the SLC’s success and our ability to save our members money! (See Below)

Please see the link below to a post from the National Association of Women in Timber and their Founder & Executive Director - Lori Ann Walker that mirrors the SLC’s thoughts very well.
