The new Fricker Resource Center Renovation is underway!
"The Frank A. Fricker Center is being renovated to breathe new life and resiliency into the nearly 70-year-old facility. These renovations are an investment to continue to meet the growing needs of the community now and for years to come. The project is funded by two grants providing $9.5 million for the renovation."

As a reminder, the City of Pensacola Parks & Recreation Department is preparing for renovations to begin at the Fricker Resource Center.
➡️Senior Programming will move to Bayview Senior Center beginning May 18.
➡️Parks & Recreation’s After School Programming will end May 22. Summer campers will be accommodated at Woodland Heights.
➡️Fricker Resource Center closes May 23.
➡️Center staff will be relocated to other centers May 26.
➡️Interior demolition work will start after the staff are relocated.
➡️The Fricker Resource Center will reopen with services in June 2027.
With nearly $9.5 million in grant funding awarded in 2023 and some Local Option Sales Tax funds, the project will allow the Fricker Resource Center to deliver a broad mix of leisure and cultural programs, events, and services that support health, fitness, relaxation, and learning.
Additionally, the renovated center will include the following:
➡️A career lab
➡️A senior center
➡️STEM Lab for students
➡️Health and wellness access
➡️Increased weather resiliency, including expanded stormwater treatment
➡️Increased parking
➡️ADA-compliant playground updates
➡️A multipurpose field/green space
➡️Renovations to restrooms, entryways, the kitchen, social hall, library and more
The Fricker Resource Center project is part of the city’s Direction ’25 program, a nearly $22 million effort to invest in and revitalize parks and public recreation spaces across the city.
