Richard J. Canfield was laid to rest on Saturday afternoon the 30th of September. Thank you to all who reached out to express their condolences. His many friends and customers will miss him and never forget him. A special thank you to our NAPA Maine family for the flowers and personal expressions about Rick. And finally, a very special thank you to Jim Bingman, General Manager of Sales and Store Operations NAPA Maine for taking the time to drive over an hour one way to attend Ricks funeral and pay his respects.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our stores founder, Richard "Rick" Canfield. Rick was known as a friendly, outgoing and hardworking businessman. Although he was involved in multiple NAPA stores during his career he had a special place in his heart for this location, its employees and customers. Rick gave a helping hand to Mark Packard, Larry Campbell and Roger Edgecomb, all of whom had a partnership in the business at one time or another. Each of them owes him a debt of gratitude and thanks for his confidence in them. While he was still able to get around, many will recall seeing Rick and his wife Claire at the store doing maintenance, inventorying stock, just visiting and also hosting our very successful 40th anniversary party in 2018. Rick is survived by his loving wife Claire as well as their blended family of children and grandchildren. We love you and we miss you Rick. You will not soon be forgotten.

Thank you for a GREAT 2021! Last year was a banner year for us in spite of Covid and supply chain issues. We are successful only because of the loyalty of our customers and the faith you put in us to provide you with professional and courteous service. The store was started in 1978 with only 2 employees: Rick Canfield and Mark Packard. Over the years we grew the size of our building, inventory and employee base so that we now have 8 employees whom you all know and recognize: Roger, Larry, Mark, Mike, Joel, Debbie, John and Red. We have a special place in our hearts for 3 past employees that worked hard on our behalf: Valerie Leavitt, Raymond Collomy and Lenora Fox. Other employees that have come and gone are: David Campbell, Marc Anthony, Scott Reed, Carol Leavitt, Denise Loring, William Loring, Jamie Fenderson, Melissa Brennan, Joyce Ryan, Chris Canfield and Leo, Rex, Jodi and Desiray...quite a cast of characters that contributed to our success! Not to leave out Scott Johnson from when he worked at OSSIPEE NAPA who filled in from time to time for vacations and sickness. It's been a long road to our success with a few bumps and pot holes along the way! Which brings us to the year 2022 and we are not done growing yet. We are working on our largest and most ambitious plan to date and if everything works out we are going to take a HUGE step into the future. Stay tuned! Thanks again for your patronage and we wish you all continued success into the future.
