🌿 Clean Air Transformation Tuesday
A manufacturer recently faced ongoing issues with a failed combination conveyor system. The OEM was unable to resolve the problem and lacked drawings for the lower portion of the dust collector, leaving the facility without a clear path forward.

That’s when they turned to the Hastings team.

Our Solution
• Replaced the lower section of the baghouse
• Installed an NFPA 69-compliant 16” rotary airlock

The Results
✅ Cleaner, safer air for employees
✅ Eliminated system plugging issues
✅ Achieved NFPA compliance

When standard solutions fall short, the right partner makes all the difference.

🌿 Clean Air Transformation Tuesday
A Northeast manufacturer operating a 24/7 process needed a robust general ventilation system to control heavy levels of incidental fugitive dust. With such a demanding environment, system reliability wasn’t optional—it was critical.

Our Solution
• Modular Ventilation: A system with integrated cleaning in each unit, designed to capture and manage heavy dust loads at the source.
• Central Housekeeping: The system removes collected particulate from the modules and transports it to a remote location.
• Built-In Redundancy: Units were strategically positioned so adjacent modules maintain performance if one goes offline.
• Continuous Operation Backup: A backup blower with quick-connect ductwork ensures uninterrupted operation during maintenance or unexpected failures.

The Results
✅ A resilient system designed to prevent downtime before it happens
✅ Cleaner air and a safer environment for workers

“March Madness” is the best way to describe our month! Between team bonding, tradeshows, and sales conferences, we saw firsthand just how exciting this time of year can be.

We kicked things off with our Annual Sales Conference. It was an incredible way to start the month with learning, collaboration, and time together as a team.

From there, we attended four events: Fabricators Manufacturer’s and Suppliers Event, the Ohio Safety Congress & Expo, Wisconsin State Firefighters Association Conference, and AEE West, where our own Brad Evans delivered a presentation. These events are always highlights for us. The opportunity to connect, learn, and help others discover our products makes them hard to beat.

Our Technology Experience Center (TEC) stayed busy as well, hosting not only our Sales Conference but also three guest visits. There’s nothing quite like seeing machines in action!

The team bonding didn’t stop there. We also held our annual Tip-Off Lunch, a chance to relax, enjoy some college basketball, and put our brackets to the test. Let’s just say the bracket competition got a little intense… including a tie for second place! Congrats to our winners 🏆 Nothing like some friendly competition.

And just like that, we’re off and running into April. Happy National Welders Month!

🌿 Clean Air Transformation Tuesday

An automotive supplier recently faced a challenge with oily smoke generated during an automated production process for front end ride control products. The oil mist was contaminating finished parts, which was unacceptable to their OEM customer, while also creating slippery and unsafe conditions for operators. To address the issue quickly and effectively, they contacted our team at Hastings Air Energy Control to engineer a solution.

Our Solution

A local Hastings application engineer designed, supplied, and installed a system featuring six canopy hoods ducted to an Airflow Systems® MP60 central collection unit, complete with IVEC® controls and automation to interface directly with the customer’s automated production process.

The Results:

✅ Oily smoke is now captured and controlled effectively

✅ Finished parts remain clean and protected

✅ Operators have a safer, cleaner work area

✅ The system integrates seamlessly with automated production

Air quality challenges like oil mist, smoke, and fumes can impact product quality, safety, and productivity. The right engineered solution can solve the problem without disrupting production.

🪴Clean Air Transformation Tuesday

An Ohio-based company came to us looking for a solution to the diesel fumes generated by their mobile welding stations. Because the vehicles are tested inside their facility, exhaust fumes were quickly building up and impacting the work environment.

To solve the problem, they partnered with Hastings to engineer a system designed specifically for their operation.

🔧Our Solution:

Plymovent SER-850 spring return hose reel paired with the FUA ¾ HP blower and ES-90 controller. The system features a switch-triggered fan that automatically turns on when the hose is pulled down, making it simple and efficient for operators to use.

The Results:

✔ A cleaner, safer environment; exhaust fumes are captured and vented outside the building.

✔ Improved workflow; with the nozzle connecting directly to the vertical exhaust pipe, employees can focus on their work without worrying about fumes in the air.

If you’re dealing with vehicle exhaust inside your facility, we can help design a system that fits your needs.

🌿 Clean Air Transformation Tuesday

A custom manufacturer of snow groomers and specialty equipment in the Northwoods of Wisconsin recently partnered with us to address weld smoke and grinding dust challenges in their facility.

Located in the heart of the snow belt, their production runs at full capacity for much of the year. With high output came increased airborne contaminants and they needed a solution that would improve air quality without disrupting operations.

After hearing about our work with other manufacturers in the region, they reached out to Hastings for support.

Our Solution:

We installed IVEC® GVAP3000-65 ambient air cleaning units, customized with integrated silencers to ensure optimal performance while maintaining comfortable noise levels on the production floor.

The Results:

✅ Significantly reduced weld smoke and grinding dust

✅ Low decibel operation to maintain a productive environment

✅ A cleaner work environment for all employees creating a better office for everyone

At Hastings, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all systems. Every solution is carefully selected based on facility size, production demands, and equipment performance to deliver long-term results.
