rming flawlessly today, in every corner of the globe. Initially, building jigs and fixtures for the Aerospace Industry, we soon branched out to providing service for the defense industry. Diversification has been the key to our long lasting success. New Tech manufactures components that succeed on every level. We exceed quality control and specification standards every step of the way, from procuring the finest raw materials, to machining, fabricating, processing and assembling. New Tech won’t tolerate even the slightest deviation of tolerances. Our people aren't simply cogs in the machine. New Tech believes our employees are key to continued success. From the onset, management selects the right team for each project. We outline expectations, and establish goals at the same time. Currently, New Tech employs about 40 people, operating 2 shifts. We like to keep payroll at this level. We feel the “chemistry” is optimum. Expansion sometimes means employees lose their sense of teamwork. We pay our employees what they are worth, and some cases that is quite a bit more than the market rate for machinists, tool-makers and so on. We feel they are worth more because of their extra skill and concern for quality. New Tech hires and trains only the best: individuals with expertise ranging from journey level machinists, to tool-makers and highly skilled assembly personnel. Each employee knows that the burden of quality is on their shoulders as quality cannot be inspected into a product. We provide them with the finest state-of-the-art equipment. Which is why we give our people the full responsibility for achieving superior quality and consistently meeting deadlines. One way that we are different from our competitors is that we work closely with the customer’s engineers. We don’t just make the ordered part or sub assembly, we check to make sure it will fit and perform the way the customer wants. Our people are a little more on top of what they are doing then some of our competitors, and we keep our rejection rate very low. Our scrap rate is down less than one percent. Tom Bigelow, who worked as a machinist at New Tech, rose through the ranks to become President and owner. His basic philosophy has always been to employ and manage a group of individuals who know more than he does. New Tech has been operating successfully with the same simple rules in place for many years, and will never deviate from those principles.
