If registration is important for your die cutting applications, we have developed the RegiClear™ custom steel rule die.

Using transparent, high-impact polymer die boards, the RegiClear™ die makes it easier for the die press operator to align the die quickly and accurately to the material they are cutting. This allows for significantly faster cycle times and superior yields. These two factors will dramatically save you in labor and material costs.

Additionally, the high-impact polymer we use has a reduced impact on the environment when compared to the polycarbonate die boards most manufacturers use.

Die cutting is often one of the most efficient manufacturing methods when cost-effective parts need to be produced quickly and consistently. Using steel rule dies, materials like neoprene, foam, rubber, fabric, and cardboard can be cut into repeatable parts for production use.

These 1/8" neoprene rectangles are one example of how die cutting can support fast turnaround and consistent results for gaskets, seals, cushions, and similar applications. Choosing the right manufacturing process early can help reduce production time and improve repeatability throughout a project.

If you’re evaluating materials and production methods for a project, we’d be happy to take a look.

Metal laser cutting projects can vary significantly in material, thickness, and production requirements.

At Terrene, Inc., we laser cut mild steel up to 3/4” thick. Our 5′ × 10′ laser beds support a wide range of part sizes, from thin gauge components to heavier plate applications.

Sheet metals we laser cut:
• Mild steel up to 3/4”
• Stainless steel up to 3/8”
• Aluminum up to 1/2”
• Brass, bronze & copper up to 1/8”

From prototypes to production runs, we support a wide range of metal laser cutting applications across multiple industries.

If you’re in the early stages of planning, you can dig into our full material and thickness capabilities below.

We support the robotics sector as part of a broad range of industries that rely on our laser cutting and manufacturing services.

Over the years, we’ve produced components in aluminum, silicone, acrylic, and other industrial plastics. These have included spacers, base plates, gaskets, and other precision parts used throughout robotic systems and assemblies.

One recent example is the white acrylic spacers shown here, precision components used in a robotics application. We laser cut them from full 4' x 8' sheets of 1/8" acrylic to maximize yield and maintain accuracy across the run.

Whether you need prototype quantities or repeat production, we focus on short lead times and clear communication to help keep your project moving.

A lot of us learned our creativity, work ethic, and problem solving from our moms.

Take some time to do something nice for the moms in your life this weekend. After all, they survived raising you. (You know what you did.)

These guides were laser cut from 1/8” black anti-static UHMW.

Each part was over 7’ x 2’, requiring equipment capable of handling larger sheet sizes.

As more lower-cost, small-format laser systems have entered the market, they’ve expanded access to laser cutting, but many shops are still limited in the sheet sizes they can process.

Our plastic and wood laser systems accommodate sheets up to 4’ x 8’, enabling both large component production and efficient nesting of smaller parts for high-volume runs.

We also run metal laser cutting systems capable of processing sheets up to 5’ x 10’, which gives us flexibility across a wide range of materials and part sizes.

The result is consistent parts and efficient production, without the constraints of smaller sheet sizes.

If you’re working on a project that requires larger format cutting, we’re happy to take a look.

Recently we produced stainless steel key fobs for Industrial Research Products, a manufacturer of industrial cleaning chemicals. These parts went through a full start-to-finish process in our shop.

Starting with client-supplied artwork, we adjusted the files for proper scaling and compatibility across both our laser cutting and laser marking systems.

Once the client gave the OK, the blanks were laser cut from 16 gauge stainless steel. Then they were bead blasted to soften the edges and to create a consistent matte surface.

From there, the parts moved along to our StayMark® laser marking process, which we routinely apply across a range of surface finishes depending on the application.

Handling file prep, cutting, finishing, and marking in-house allowed us to maintain consistency throughout the entire workflow.

The finished key fobs have a clean appearance with durable, high-contrast marking.

We regularly laser cut more than just metals, wood, and plastics.

For example, these hook and loop cable straps were produced by laser cutting Velcro® sheets.

With materials like Velcro®, the laser seals the cut edge as it cuts, preventing fraying while maintaining consistent geometry. Once dialed in, we’re able to produce uniform parts across a full run.

The result is a reliable, repeatable component ready for integration into the final product.

We also work with materials like leather, felt, canvas, cotton, Kevlar®, artificial turf, and other similar materials. If you have a project in mind, feel free to reach out or learn more below.

A recent project had us recreating a 3/16" rosewood plywood dash panel from a custom-built car. The car was originally designed and built in 1969 by the client’s uncle.

The client came in with the original part, worn from years of use, along with an engineering drawing that outlined the changes he wanted to incorporate.

We began by capturing the geometry. Using our laser CMM, we scanned the panel and rebuilt the file in CAD, correcting damaged areas and making the requested updates.

The next step was checking how the dash panel fit. A prototype cut from scrap plywood gave the client something to test fit directly in the car, which led to a final round of adjustments.

With the final CAD file approved, the finished panel was laser cut from the supplied rosewood plywood. As a final detail, we laser engraved his uncle’s signature into the surface, tying the new part back to the original build.

Projects like this come together through iteration and close collaboration, especially when starting with a worn part and an evolving design.

If you have a similar project, we can help you work through it.
