📢 NJDEP Proposes REAL Rule Legacy Period Extension to July 20, 2027

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has proposed extending the REAL rules legacy period by one year—from July 20, 2026, to July 20, 2027. This extension would allow eligible projects to continue being reviewed under the pre-REAL regulatory standards if complete applications are submitted before the new deadline.

NJDEP indicated the extension is intended to provide additional time for stakeholder engagement and evaluation of potential refinements to the REAL rules while maintaining their long-term resilience objectives.

• Public comment period open through July 31, 2026
• Public hearing scheduled for July 7, 2026

Yesterday, our TWT team had the opportunity to give back during the CCSNJ Day of Service, supporting organizations making a meaningful impact across Camden County. From cleaning trash along the shores of Petty’s Island 🏝️ with the Center for Aquatic Sciences to painting, cleaning, and exploring the history of the Battleship New Jersey 🛳️, our employees spent the day serving, learning, and connecting together.

Beyond the projects themselves, the day was an incredible learning and team bonding experience, giving employees the chance to learn about local history and environmental stewardship while building stronger connections with one another outside of the office.

Giving back to the communities we work in is something we truly value at TWT. Through our Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program and the efforts of our Community Service Committee, we encourage employees to give back and make a difference where it matters most.

Thank you to the Center for Aquatic Sciences, the Battleship New Jersey, BB62, and the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey (CCSNJ) for organizing such impactful opportunities for our team to serve and learn. We’re proud of everyone who volunteered and represented TWT so well! 👏

Good food, competitive games, and a great afternoon at our TWT Tacos & Toss event! 🌮🏆

As part of our 125th Anniversary Employee Event Series, this event was all about celebrating and thanking the incredible employees who continue to make TWT what it is today. From tacos and team spirit to some seriously competitive co****le matchups, it was a fantastic way to bring everyone together.

A special thank you to local Mount Laurel business Ma & Pa’s Tex Mex BBQ for keeping everyone well-fed throughout the afternoon!

Our team had an awesome time attending and sponsoring the ASCE South Jersey Branch YMF Tailgate & Phillies Game. From tailgating with colleagues and industry friends to cheering on the Phils, it was a fantastic opportunity to connect outside the office and support the engineering community.

We had an amazing time celebrating Bring Your Child to Work Day at TWT! 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

From designing their own hard hats and safety vests to enjoying pizza, games, and coloring, our future engineers got a hands-on look at what we do every day. The afternoon brought even more excitement with water balloon tosses, outdoor fun, and a visit from Mister Softee 🍦

Great swings, even better company ⛳️

Our team had a great time at this week’s Builders League of South Jersey (BLSJ) Topgolf event, an afternoon of networking, some friendly competition, and good food. From fajitas and nachos to a little leaderboard bragging rights, it was a fun way to connect with industry peers and spend time together outside the office.

Events like these are a big part of what makes the BLSJ community so valuable, giving teams like ours another great way to connect beyond the job site.

We kicked off our 125th Anniversary Celebration at TWT with a breakfast dedicated to the people who make it all possible, our employees.

From great food and company to the unveiling of our 125 Employee Celebration Series Event Schedule, it was an exciting start to a year dedicated to recognizing our people, our projects, and our legacy. We also shared a first look at what’s ahead, including our year-end 125th Anniversary Gala and the debut of our limited-edition 125 apparel line and 125 swag collection.

As we celebrate 125 years, we’re not just honoring our history, we’re recognizing the employees who continue to shape our success every day. Thank you to our entire team for your hard work, commitment, and the culture you help create.
