Ultra Machining Company is a premiere manufacturer of precision machined parts and assemblies for customers across medical, aerospace, commercial, energy, industrial markets. Although the facility was not impressive, his aspirations certainly were. The name Ultra was chosen because it meant “going beyond others.” Terry knew it would take that commitment to stay ahead of the competition and be the
best in the industry. We started from humble beginnings and built a successful business with dedicated people and innovative technologies. From there we developed decades of manufacturing experience and have pushed the envelope to innovate and delight our customers. People committed to integrity, speed, innovation, and outstanding performance remain the cornerstone of our organization today. Still today, our employees embrace the ideals of our founder. In 1972, production was expanded to a 33,000 sq. facility in Hamel, MN. Later in 2003, the leadership team went on to design a state of the art facility in Monticello, MN and moved all operations to the 72,000 sq. building. Succession planning was also underway as Terry transitioned ownership to his son Don Tomann and wife Jenny along with 5 other key leaders within the organization in 2007.
