It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our founder, Darrel Adamson.

Darrel was a pioneer who didn’t just work in the decorative concrete world — he re‑invented concrete engraving itself. His ideas, his tools, and his relentless drive opened the door for thousands of contractors to start and grow their own businesses. Entire careers and companies exist today because Darrel believed concrete could be more, and because he believed people could be more.

He was a visionary, a leader, and yes — at times, stubborn in the way only true innovators are. When Darrel believed in something, he pushed for it with everything he had. That stubborn streak is part of what changed an industry and built a community that spans the country and beyond.

His loss will be felt on a massive scale — by family, by friends, by the Engrave‑A‑Crete team, and by the countless contractors whose lives and livelihoods were shaped by his work. The impact he made is permanent, etched into every engraved line and every transformed surface.

Darrel will be greatly missed, but his legacy lives on in the people he empowered and the industry he helped create.
