Summer is here which means a lot of tractor parts, lawn mowers, and the most popular- trailers.
Life has been in full swing (isn't it always) which means there's no time for pictures or keeping up with Facebook 🙈
Yesterday was a broken lawnmower piece that needed prepped and welded and today was this aluminum trailer that had some cracks and breaks underneath causing some issues.
I'm not always great at knowing all the correct terminology or what parts he welded back up, but I am good at sliding that pedal around, handing him tools, holding parts to weld, and occasionally getting decent pictures (my favorite part) 🤣

Custom safe room/storm shelter door. 3/8" x 8" frame. Door is 11 gauge with a 3/16" sheet of steel. Custom built slide latch out of 3/4" round bar. 4 heavy duty 1" barrel hinges on the door. Id say it will be safe!

Most people don't realize there's a lot more to it than "slapping a weld on there". The initial clean up and preparation usually takes the most time.

Depending on the crack, many need drilled to prevent further breaking, cleaned, beveled, cleaned again, straightened, clamped, if there are lights or any kind of wires or rubber involved it needs removed to prevent burning/melting, then welding can begin.

A custom dog bed that will last a lifetime!

When the Amazon raised bed started to give out, (he is 50lbs over the limit 🤣) we wanted to create something that would not only be durable, but a beautiful addition to our home.

It turned out exactly how I (Heather) imagined and looks amazing.

Get the job done right the first time.
Using JB Weld (or similar fixes) usually costs you more in the long run. You pay for the product, you waste time when it doesn’t work, then you spend even more because of the time it takes cleaning and prepping the metal so it can be welded properly—if your welder will even touch it after it’s been contaminated with JB. And after all that, you still pay for the actual repair.
Do yourself, your wallet, and your welder a favor: skip the "shortcut" (that's never actually a shortcut) and get it fixed correctly the first time.

I was brought this leaf spring hanger off of a dump truck and asked if I could recreate a bigger stronger version.
After the prototype was a go four heavy new shackles were made and put to use!
