Maintenance Technician (Mechanical & Controls)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with hands-on experience in industrial
equipment repair and a foundational background in electrical controls and automation. This role
is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving production and facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical
aptitude, understands basic PLC and controls systems, and can work independently in a fastpaced manufacturing and industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Maintenance:
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and complete repairs in a timely manner.
• Replace bearings, belts, chains, seals, valves, and other machine components.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics.
• Conduct inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
Electrical & Controls Support:
• Assist with troubleshooting electrical and control system issues on industrial machinery.
• Work with sensors, relays, contactors, VFDs, motor starters, and control panels.
• Perform basic PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar preferred).
• Support equipment startups, calibration, and adjustments.
• Assist in maintaining and updating electrical documentation and control schematics.
General Responsibilities:
• Follow all company safety procedures and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
• Document maintenance activities and completed repairs in CMMS or maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and production teams to minimize downtime.
• Identify opportunities for equipment reliability improvements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
Required:
• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems and controls.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends as needed.
Preferred:
• Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical
Technology, or related field.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and automation systems.
• Experience with VFDs, HMIs, and industrial networking.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance practices.
