Some people leave behind buildings.
Some leave behind businesses.
But a rare few leave behind a legacy of love so deep that generations will continue to feel it long after they are gone.
Today, our hearts are with the Tucker family and everyone at Galilean Home Ministries as they mourn the passing of Jerry Tucker — lovingly known to so many as “Papa Oso.” ❤️
For more than 50 years, Jerry and Sandy Tucker dedicated their lives to caring for abused, neglected, disabled, and forgotten children from all over the world. Together, they created not just a ministry, but a true home filled with compassion, dignity, faith, and unconditional love.
Through Galilean Home Ministries and the Bread of Life Café, Jerry’s life became a testimony of service. Thousands of children found safety because of him. Countless lives were changed because he chose to say “yes” when others may have turned away.
What began with two willing hearts became a place where hope lived.
We have been incredibly blessed to know and work alongside Galilean Home Ministries and Bread of Life Café for over 20 years. They are more than clients to us — they are family. Watching the impact of Jerry’s life through the people he loved and cared for has been nothing short of inspiring.
A man may leave this earth, but the kindness he poured into others continues on forever. And Jerry Tucker’s kindness will echo for generations.
To his children, grandchildren, staff, residents, and everyone whose life was touched by his compassion — we are praying for peace, comfort, and strength in the days ahead.
Thank you, Papa Oso, for showing the world what love in action truly looks like. 🕊️
