Hands-on training helps low-voltage teams build consistent testing practices across every stage of a cabling project. Softing IT Networks recently worked with the Bluestone Communications Inc. team on practical workflows for copper and fiber cable testing, network diagnostics, certification, troubleshooting, and results documentation. Founded in 2005 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Hatzel & Buehler, Inc., Bluestone has developed into a diversified technology and telecommunications contractor supporting complex installation and maintenance requirements. We appreciate the opportunity to work with their skilled professionals and support the testing knowledge needed to deliver reliable, standards-compliant network infrastructure. Getting production data from the PLC into enterprise systems should not require another PC-based middleware layer. Softing eATM tManager® for CompactLogix® provides direct bidirectional connectivity between CompactLogix PLCs and Microsoft SQL or Oracle databases, with MQTT connectivity available for cloud applications including AWS IoT Core and Azure IoT Hub.

Installed directly in the CompactLogix chassis, tManager handles data transactions without custom coding or OPC protocol translation. This gives controls and automation teams a direct path for applications such as production monitoring, analytics, track and trace, recipe downloads, dashboards, and process optimization. Store-and-forward capability provides local buffering when database connectivity is interrupted, while transaction logging and time-stamped data support operational visibility and audit requirements.

🔴 Fiber faults can be difficult to locate without the right tool. The CableMaster VFL uses visible red laser light to help technicians identify fiber breaks, verify continuity, locate fiber ends, and confirm Tx/Rx polarity in single-mode and multimode fiber.

Its compact, roll-resistant design, one-handed operation, and support for common 2.5 mm connectors make it a practical addition to any fiber technician’s toolkit. With an optional 1.25 mm adapter for LC connectors and approximately 40 hours of operation in flashing mode, it is built for efficient troubleshooting across data centers, industrial facilities, outside plant environments, and other fiber installations.
