Can a steel frame home withstand hurricanes?

Yes — but it's not just about the steel.

A hurricane-resistant structure depends on proper engineering, wind load calculations, and the right hardware specified for every connection throughout the project.

For each structure, we analyze wind loads according to Florida requirements and ASCE 7-22 standards, determining the appropriate anchors, hold-downs, truss connectors, and structural hardware needed for the system.

We prepare the complete hardware schedule based on engineering requirements and can also provide the specified hardware package as part of the steel structure kit, including Simpson Strong-Tie® connectors and other required components.

From the slab to the roof structure, every connection is designed to work together as one complete structural system.

Our goal is simple: take care of the entire structural package, so you can build with confidence.

Protection starts before the final roof goes on. ⚡

On this project, we installed GAF StormGuard® as part of the roof system to help protect the structure against moisture intrusion and severe weather conditions.
