We’re proud of our rich history, including our role in helping the United States and its allies win World War II. By 1942, the C.L. Gougler Machine Company [predecessor of FRD-USA] needed to ramp up production after being awarded several government contracts to manufacture aircraft and armament parts. The company moved into a vacant facility on Lake Street in Kent, which still remains FRD’s location. With a reputation for machining and manufacturing excellence and awards from the armed forces to back it up, the company grew to employ more than 2,000 workers at 10 different locations around Kent.
