💪 The older I get, the more I appreciate being able to do the things I enjoy.

After everything my body's been through, I've realized that staying healthy and active isn't something I can take for granted. I have to put some effort into it.

Living with an ostomy is part of my life, but I don't want it to determine what I'm capable of doing. My goal is to stay active, maintain my independence, and keep enjoying life as I get older.

💙 Six months ago, my dermatologist told me I had basal cell carcinoma. My first thought was, seriously? I went through stage 3 colon cancer five years ago, and now this?

I knew it was a very different situation, but that didn't stop me from being scared. Then I realized something. A lot of my frustration comes from thinking I shouldn't have to deal with these problems in the first place.

But life doesn't work that way. Things happen. I don't have control over all of them. I just have to deal with what's in front of me and keep living my life.

✂️ Trimming the hair around my stoma is just another part of my regular ostomy care routine.
