Its been hard to document all the small jobs that we have had this summer. A lot of repairs that haven't seemed worthy of documenting mixed in with some other custom work that got away from us. So when I had the opportunity to photograph this little project as it progressed, I made sure to take full advantage of it.

This customer has railings around the front of their porch in this Chippendale style and wanted to add more to their front steps. They are getting on in years and wanted to make sure they had a safe way to get up and down these stairs. So we added a railing with a grab handle and made sure to copy the dimensions and specs from their existing structures to keep a cohesive esthetic across the board. We used pressure treated pine for the structure and will be coming back in a month or so to paint it white to match.

Check out this quick little project! 👀

Our customer wanted a 4' fence for their backyard—shorter than the typical privacy fence because they value being able to interact with their neighbors. We love creating solutions that fit the way you live!

We also installed an electric gate opener for added accessibility, complete with a solar panel for convenience. ☀️

Each fence post was set on gravel and secured with concrete for a strong, long-lasting finish. We also added a personnel gate on the opposite side of the property to make getting around the yard easy without interfering with the main gate.

What a fun little project!

This customer loves spending time in her driveway visiting with neighbors, but her old hardware-store swing had seen better days. She wanted something with a little more old-country charm, so she gave us a call.

This wasn't a kit—we designed and built it specifically for her space. We even reused her existing swing to help save costs, and we think it fits perfectly.

The structure will be painted white in a few months after the lumber has had time to dry.

We love projects like this because they're about more than just building something beautiful—they create a place for connection, conversation, and community.

Wait a second... fences too?!

This was a fun project to complete for our church and a great example of how a practical solution can also enhance the appearance of a space.

We had several A/C units and a large propane tank that were exposed and distracting from the look of our newly improved property. The answer? A custom fence system designed to serve multiple purposes.

Not only does this fence provide an attractive way to screen equipment and utilities, but it also adds security around our tool and material storage areas. An added benefit is helping keep little hands safe by limiting access to tools and supplies.

The finished result is a clean, organized, and functional addition that improves both the appearance and usability of the property. We love creating solutions that look great, serve a purpose, and stand the test of time.

Part 2: The Kitchen
The kitchen became another meaningful part of this project. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes when the spaces we use every day are working the way they should.

With the help of several incredible volunteers, we removed the sink and countertops, strengthened portions of the cabinetry, gave the existing sink a thorough refresh, and installed new countertops. We also replaced the cabinet hardware so everything opens and closes smoothly again.

It's easy to overlook the little things until they're not functioning properly. Seeing this kitchen become more functional, welcoming, and ready for everyday life was a rewarding step forward. We're grateful for everyone who gave their time, skills, and effort to help make it happen.

If I (Charles) had the ability to show you my heart, this project would probably communicate it best.

Recently, we had the opportunity to come alongside some longtime friends and help tackle a few projects around their home. Like many older homes, there were several things that had simply worn with time and needed some attention. What started as a conversation quickly turned into something much bigger than we ever expected.

Over the course of a month, we were able to raise more than $4,000 for materials, and an incredible group of volunteers stepped up to donate their time, skills, and energy. Watching people come together to serve others in such a practical way was truly inspiring.

Part One: Doors & Electrical

One of the first areas we focused on was improving several exterior doors throughout the home. We replaced the main front and rear entry doors, repaired and adjusted others that needed attention, and gave everything a fresh coat of paint to help refresh the home's appearance and functionality.

We also worked through the electrical devices throughout the house. Thanks to generous donations, every outlet and switch was replaced, giving our friends a safer, more reliable, and more comfortable home environment.

Projects like this remind me that serving others doesn't always require grand gestures. Sometimes it's simply showing up with willing hands, practical skills, and a heart to help. I'm incredibly grateful for every person who donated, volunteered, encouraged, and prayed throughout this project. This wasn't the work of one person—it was a community coming together to care for people.

What a fun little project!

We recently had the opportunity to build this simple swing support for some longtime friends. Their grandson is turning one in just a few days, and they wanted to give him something he can enjoy for years to come.

We set 4x4 posts deep into the ground and built a sturdy gable-style frame designed to stand the test of time. Secured with fasteners throughout, this swing structure is solid, safe, and ready to make memories.

Projects like this remind us that sometimes the simplest builds become the most meaningful. ❤️

We recently had the incredible opportunity to spend time at REthreaded , where Charles was invited to teach a class on car care and basic maintenance for their staff.
It was such a meaningful way to serve and connect with our community, and we’re truly grateful for opportunities like this to share knowledge, encourage others, and invest in people in practical ways. Feeling very blessed to have the freedom to be part of work that makes a difference.
