Imagine four decades for this.
A ‘Walmart’ store in Owensboro, Kentucky, recently posted a photo thanking an employee named Gayle for her incredible 44 years of service.
Her reward? A nice bouquet of flowers and a public shoutout on ‘Facebook’.
Unsurprisingly, the internet immediately lost its mind over it.
Critics are arguing that giving over four decades of your life to one of the richest corporations on Earth deserves significantly more than a vase of grocery store blooms.
To be fair, local store gestures usually come out of a small store budget and don't reflect actual corporate benefits like pensions or stock options.
Neither ‘Walmart’ nor Gayle have publicly commented on the viral fallout yet.
Either way, 44 years is longer than most people commenting have even been alive💀
