A long-time, satisfied customer took delivery of another G.W. Becker Inc. overhead crane this week. A common catch phrase in social media is “wait for it.” And to see the full scope of what we do here, you’ll need to wait a minute - or specifically in this case – one minute and eleven seconds. Take a long look at this 25-ton capacity beauty, right off the factory floor!

G.W. Becker Inc. was proud to host Pennsylvania Secretary of Transportation Mike Carroll, State Senator Michele Brooks, Hermitage City Manager Gary Hinkso, Hermitage Asst. City Manager Gary Gulla, and other Mercer County leaders for the announcement of a $1.1 million grant to the city of Hermitage. The funds will be utilized to update the industrial corridor for the first time in 30 years. Three roads will get a long-delayed upgrade, with the resurfacing of Kirilla, Industrial, and Llodio Roads in 2027. The event was held on National Manufacturing Day, which kicks off a month-long awareness and advocacy campaign every October, to showcase modern manufacturing facilities and career opportunities in the industry.

Among the media in attendance, WFMJ TV covered the event. Click the link for more:

Manufacturing Day is more than a single day on the calendar.

It is a national grassroots movement, and G.W. Becker Inc. is part of it.

Each year, manufacturers and their partners across the country open their doors to students, educators, parents and community members to show what modern manufacturing really looks like, changing the way a new generation sees our industry.

Celebrated annually on the first Friday in October, MFG Day has grown into one of the most visible workforce development movements in the country.

It's easy to showcase the heavy duty, custom engineered, overhead cranes that we manufacture in-house here at G.W. Becker Inc. with impressive videos on social media. But, our customers will tell you that the SERVICE we provide needs some recognition too. Over 45 years of servicing overhead cranes (ours and "not ours") has built a reputation that makes us extremely proud, even if the photos are not as awe-inspiring as pictures of the massive cranes we build.
